Drive From Milnathort On Narrow Road To Old Library In Glenfarg Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland travel video of a road trip drive on the narrow road from Milnathort on ancestry visit to the old libraray in Glenfarg, Perthshire. The Arngask Library was built in 1892. Until 1890 the main settlement in the area was the hamlet of Arngask, now a few hundred yards to the east of Glenfarg. In that year the North British Railway opened a line to Perth to coincide with the completion of the Forth Rail Bridge. Glenfarg Station was built to serve this upland area on the site of a farm called Damhead. The settlement that rapidly grew up around it became equally rapidly known as Glenfarg.

Heather's Story and the Kinross-shire Volunteer Group
The Kinross-shire Volunteer Group helps the residents from Kinross and surrounding areas by offering driving services to those who have difficulties accessing public transport due to ill health, mobility or any other issue. As most of the clients are elderly, the service is also effective on tackling social isolation and the drivers befriend the clients, making them feel listened and cared for.
Heather has been using the KVG services for over ten years and is very grateful for their help. She has mobility issues and her husband Harold had complex care needs and required assistance to be taken to hospital appointments. Heather contacted the Kinross-shire Volunteer Group and they helped her frequently with the transportation.
She now uses the Kinross-shire Volunteer Group services herself and really enjoys the friendship which she built with the volunteer drivers. Heather says this service improved her well-being and gave her a feeling of independence.
If you are interested in the Kinross-shire Volunteer Group services, contact Mrs Ann Munro on administrator@kvgandros.org.uk or call 01577 84019.
