Today we ride the Giant Ibis Bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, Cambodia. The bus was clean and comfortable. The trip took about 7 hours. We stopped twice, once for a bathroom break and once for lunch. The bus was mostly full of foreigners.

SIEM REAP TO PHNOM PENH WITH GIANT IBIS | Cambodia | Vlog 022
We travel from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh by bus with Giant Ibis. The buses are large coaches with good leg room, passable WIFI and power outlets for all of your charging needs. We are also pleasantly surprised to discover that they give you water and snacks and stop fairly regularly.
After a relatively painless 7 hour trip we arrive in the capital and discover our hotel is nowhere near what we had expected. After some complaining and terrible customer service, they upgrade us. However, the worst is still yet to come with this poor excuse for a hotel.

Saigon to Phnom Penh with Giant Ibis bus company
Boring long bus journeys in Southeast Asia are unlikely to be the most fun part of traveling in the region. Recently, I took Giant Ibis from Saigon to Phnom Penh. The journey takes around seven to eight hours, depending on heavy traffic and long queues at the border crossing. Please note that there is NOT a toilet on board!! There is a light snack served FREE of charge and a bottle of water. The cost of a one way ticket is $18. A return ticket costs $36.
There’s a stop between on the Cambodian border at a restaurant and also a new duty-free complex where you can buy cheap drink and cigarettes. I saw cartons of local cigarettes for only $2!! You can pay in US$ for your food at the restaurant.
Cambodian Tourist Visa
The tourist visa (T class) is best for those who know they will be staying 30 days or less.
The 30-day tourist visa is available to travellers in advance or on arrival (for most nationalities) for a cost of $30. The tourist visa is single entry only, and can be renewed once for an additional 30 days for a fee of $45. After that, tourist visa holders must leave Cambodia and come back and obtain a new visa. If you are planning on staying in Cambodia, don’t bother with a tourist visa and start with an ordinary visa instead.
Once you have your first 30-day ordinary visa for Cambodia, you can extend it from inside the country for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. It’s advisable to extend it for 6 or 12 months, as these visa types are multiple-entry. The 1- and 3-month ordinary visas are single-entry only, meaning that if you leave for a weekend trip to Vietnam, you’ll need to get a new Cambodian visa when you return.
E Visa
For anyone who is considering staying in Cambodia for an extended period of time, the ordinary visa (E class) is the best option. This visa used to be called the business visa but is now called the normal or ordinary visa. It is also valid for 30 days and costs $35. The difference between the ordinary visa and the tourist visa is that the ordinary one can be extended indefinitely. Be aware that although the “ordinary” visa is often called a “business visa,” it does not confer the right to work in Cambodia. In order to be legally employed, you will need a Cambodia work permit, but you do not need a work permit to get a visa.
Have a wonderful trip and please give me a ''thumbs up'' if you liked the video.

Remember that if you are headed from Phnom Penh to Vietnam, you'll need to get your visa before getting on the bus. The exceptions is that citizens of Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK may enter visa-free for 15 days.

Sleeper Bus Siem Reap to Phnom Penh

The sleeper bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. Seemed like a good idea, enjoy the whole day in Siem Reap, sleep on the bus and save a night of accomodation. The bus left at 11pm and somehow made the scheduled 7 hour journey in 4 and a half. Would have been happy to stay in the bus for a few more hours but instead I acquainted myself with the streets of Phnom Penh.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia - Giant Ibis Bus to Siam Reap (The Long Road)
We decided to go in style this time for the bus trip by taking the Giant Ibis bus from Phnom Penh, Cambodia to Siam Reap. This is an even longer bus trip than the Sihanoukville one.
Because we've seen so many bus trip videos, I'll only select a few from this series for the trip.
