Gibraltar - Sightseeing Tour
Gibraltar sights to visit are The Pillars of Hercules/Jews Gate, Apes Den/Top of the Rock - home of the Barbary Apes, Princess Caroline's Battery, St Michael's Cave, The Great Siege Tunnels, Europa Point/ Trinity Lighthouse, The Moorish Castle/ Tower of Homage, The 100 Ton Gun, The 9.2 Inch Gun/ O'Hara's Battery & The World War ll Tunnels.
Gibraltar is a British overseas territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean. It has an area of 6.8 square kilometres (2.6 sq mi) and a northern border with Andalusia, Spain. The Rock of Gibraltar is the major landmark of the region. At its foot is the densely populated city area, home to almost 30,000 Gibraltarians and other nationalities.
An Anglo-Dutch force captured Gibraltar from Spain in 1704 during the War of the Spanish Succession. The territory was subsequently ceded to Britain in perpetuity under the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713. It was an important base for the Royal Navy; today its economy is based largely on tourism, financial services, and shipping.
The sovereignty of Gibraltar is a major point of contention in Anglo-Spanish relations as Spain asserts a claim to the territory. Gibraltarians rejected proposals for Spanish sovereignty in a 1967 referendum and again in 2002. Under the Gibraltar constitution of 2006, Gibraltar governs its own affairs, though some powers, such as defence and foreign relations, remain the responsibility of the UK Government.

Gibraltar - airport monkeys caves and tunnels - all in one day!
We had one day to explore Gibraltar, this is how we did it!
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and headland, on Spain's most southernly coast. It is dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426m-high limestone ridge. First settled by the Moors in the Middle Ages and later ruled by Spain, the outpost was ceded to the British in 1713. Layers of fortifications include the remains of a 14th-century Moorish Castle and the 18th century Great Siege Tunnels, which were expanded in WWII.

Gibraltar Airport:
Gibraltar Airport is listed as one of the most dangerous airports in the World. Not at least because of it's only 1777m long runway, but also because of the 4-lane Winston Churchill Avenue, which is crossing the runway. This is very unique.

Wild monkeys in Gibraltar
Gibraltar is a British territory at the southern tip of Spain, and the only place in Europe where you can find wild monkeys. Conservationists are trying to keep the peace between Gibraltar's endangered monkeys and their neighbors. Jonathan Vigliotti has more.

Mother's Day Mission - Gibraltar (2012)
We asked mums in Gibraltar:
Knowing what you know now and if you could turn back the clocks to when you had your first child, what advise would you give yourself?
Mother's Day Mission is a project initiated and organized by a group who are in the process of setting up the BabySTEPPs charity. Since BabySTEPPs as a charity is still not officially established or registered, until it is, funds raised from the 'Mother's Day Mission' will be going directly to the Rainbow and maternity wards at St Bernard's Hospital, since it is intended that the charity will work closely with both wards.
