Gibsons, BC is made up of nine different neighbourhoods and each has its own personality. Today we’re exploring Gibsons Landing.
Gibsons Landing is where the town’s namesake first arrived over 130 years ago and was also the setting for CBC’s popular The Beachcombers. Today it’s one of the most visited attractions on the Sunshine Coast.
Each summer, visitors flock to the area for events like Sea Cavalcade, Canada Day, and BC Day festivities. Paddlers from all over the world descend on Gibsons Landing to compete in the bi-annual International Howe Sound Outrigger Race.
Trendy shops and popular restaurants line Marine Drive and Gower Point Road and past Winegarden Park, you’ll fine the Gibsons Public Market.
Businesses dominate the waterfront but the neighbourhood becomes decidedly residential as we move uphill. Among the homes are parks, the municipal hall, and the Gibsons Public Library.

My boyfriend and I decided to go on a little weekend trip and journeyed to Gibsons, on the Sunshine Coast of BC, Canada. We did lots of walking in the rain, exploring the beach, eating great food, and relaxing at our Airbnb! And of course... CHICKENS!

Turning right at the entrance, we get our first look at some of the photos and memorabilia the line the walls of the restaurant. Molly's Reach has a 9am liquor license so the behind-the-counter is a bar area is a must have.
Walking back past the front entrance, we see more seating and more The Beachcombers memorabilia. Windows along the restaurant's southeastern wall provide spectacular views of the ocean and Gibsons Marina.
Turning around, we get a second look down the length of the restaurant. To our left is the second seating area with more ocean views and more historic photos from Gibsons and the television series.
On our left are three washrooms as well as a rear entrance. In front of us is the well-appointed commercial kitchen with plenty of prep and work spaces.
From a walk-in freezer to ovens to a flat-top grill and deep fryer, this kitchen has every piece of equipment needed to run a restaurant of this size and popularity.

Gibsons BC - Things to do in Vancouver
Spring Break is the perfect time for a day trip to Gibsons. A short ferry ride and we ended up in a new world filled with local artists, bakers, and artisans. Why don't we do this more often??? Gibsons BC is a quiet gem so close to the heart of Vancouver. In this video my Mom and I visit my long time friend who just recently moved back to Gibsons to see his new spot and spent some time with his family.
When I was a kid I would visit him in Gibsons every summer. I remember sleeping on his patio and looking up at more stars then I'd ever seen before. There is something about small artistic communities that just brings joy and good feelings. Gibsons is one of those places.
We had a great trip! If you ever have a few days in Vancouver, you should go.

BC’s beautiful Sunshine Coast is blessed to have a wide variety of farmers’ markets, especially in the summer months. The biggest and perhaps most known is the Sechelt Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market which is located along Cowrie Street and operates Saturdays from 9am until 2:30 in the arvo.
There are heap-loads of vendors offering a variety of goods including garden-fresh produce, First Nations art, jewelry, fresh seafood, hand-blown glass, stained glass, baked goods, plants, toys, herbals, self-published authors, knitting, sewing, crocheted and leather goods, carvings… Crikey, it’s a long list! You just need to check it out.
In Gibsons, the Gibsons Landing Sunday Market is – unsurprisingly - held on Sundays from 10 until 3. It’s located in Holland Park along Gower Point Road between the municipal building and Winegarden Park.
The Gibsons Public Market also occasionally hosts night markets, usually on the Friday of some of our summertime long weekends.

just realized that there's a few hints about music on this video. for starters take the town name of Gibson, and it's also a well known guitar brand. Then we stayed @ Caprice which in turn derives from the Capricci which is Italian form of music. The hosts Jeanne & Lois are both retired music professors. There's a pic of me playing on their grand piano just before breakfast.

World's BEST drinking water - Gibsons, BC

Gibsons is perhaps most famous for being the home to the long running CBC program “the Beachcombers” but less well known is the fact that Gibsons has some of the best drinking water in the world.
This isn’t just my opinion – it’s an actual fact. In 2005, the Town of Gibsons was awarded the gold medal in the coveted Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting. It’s the largest water tasting competition in the world.
More than a decade later, a large portion of the homes in Gibsons still have this pure, delicious, aquifer water delivered directly to their kitchen taps. In a world where we’re inundated with warnings about the additives and chemicals we ingest, it’s refreshing to know that Gibsonites receive the best version of the most important element on the planet.
