Blizzards Sculpt The History of the Ranch
Over the last 133 years the ranch has stood up to many challenges but none so intimidating as the blizzards that can strike Wyoming.
Beginning in 1886, settlers had to contend and adapt to something that is beyond our control. Preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. Today we look at the history of major blizzards and how they shaped how we ranch and live our lives.

KOA Campground 4th of July (4 of 6) Documentary 2011 7 i X Campsite 11 4.mp4
We camped all the time and belonged to a group of educators that made a private reality for themselves and their families to camp and do things that weren't about 1 religion or one exact thing but many together to learn and to share life their way. The way I learned. My dad and Gene Helmke, who has passed and I believe Ruth Helmke is still alive his survived wife I think they say. Anyway, I had a great time for my childhood until 11 camping there. 2 sides the main side and Frog Creek. The teen center I couldn't go in and the pool I had to have Mike Rowlands or Mitch I can't remember they were in college. Anyway, they needed a life guard for me because I was so young and had the run of the place. The little white/mexican girl who was the one who just did what she did while all the families ran the place. They did the ponies for the chaos campers who shared this place with the private American Club my dad decided for us to be and join family camping with. We did it year round and were committed. They had fish fries with beer batter and once we all tried a snapping turtle. My dad did the campfire and arts and crafts and helped run the place with the Helmkes. He was a school teacher then after he finished his Masters Degree at the University of Minnesota and where he was on the Dean's list, except for one semester. He was also a United States Marine, a tradesman in Carpentry and worked for the United States Postal Office in Hennepin County. My mother was a homemaker and his wife. Mrs. Duane Kenneth Howe. He changed his name and had the D.K. tattooed on his left arm along with his Okinowa tattoo of a Panther I think it is. Campfires and family learning. Gene had Red Barn Church Service on Saturday nights and Sunday morning to make it an option to stay camping. Summers were fun and we had friends share our family place and they stayed in the cabins on the lake. Winters we snowmobiled, skied and ice fishing was just like getting the morning paper. Ice skating and I do miss Christmas in July. It reminded me of my birthday I once had playing pin the tail on the donkey with my dad's newly found step sister Darlene. She was married to Jay. Jay and Darlene. My dad watched the fight there. Wasn't that Mahammed Ali fighting then.
I grew up and we started a new project on a hobby farm. 8 more years and a new project with more Masters and Doctorate people. Then I went to college. A life of camping and of being with all of these parents and educators in Minnesota has given me a prospective that is like looking at them all but not being a part of them. The 70's and I feel like the movie Stand by Me not seeing a dead body for the first time but seeing me. A hippie and a Mexican mother in the white state of Minnesota. I'm not Lenny Kravitz or Jonny Depp I'm a hippie chick from a state where like white snow or white tortillas I'm forgotten but I won't forget KOA and what I'm from. The 70's and I'm 1967 again and well, that's heaven isn't it. I killed myself on January 2, 2003 with my puppy Veronika Grace Dalton Jory Eleven. A purebred English Mastiff but I lived her life with her and we're not Mexican English or anything else just American. I just got back from Placitas and well, the new .com gold rush is over and my project I finished in Placitas, New Mexico after David Cassidy pointed me in the direction of Alburquerque I found Placitas and built a pool and a project was me and Catholic against Protestants just like Ireland. Wow! Doing one alone sure was rough! Anyway, this is a little of me.

America’s First Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship
Since its heyday in the late 1800s, bare-knuckle boxing in the US has been relegated to parking lots and grimy basements, an underground sport that couldn’t find a way to bring itself above board. But in June of 2018—after spending years petitioning almost 30 states to sanction the brutal fights—promoter David Feldman finally managed to stage America's first-ever legal bare-knuckle boxing match in Wyoming.
VICE went to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships in Cheyenne a few days ahead of the big event to hear how Feldman managed to pull it off, and to meet a handful of fighters for whom boxing—and even MMA fighting—just isn’t hardcore enough.

Wyoming state song (anthem)
Wyoming is the state song of Wyoming. Judge Charles Edwin Winter (1870–1948) wrote the words during the summer of 1903. And Earle R. Clemens (1878–1943) wrote music to it soon thereafter. They copyrighted the song in 1913 and the Wyoming Publishing Company in Casper published it that same year and the song became the unofficial Wyoming state song. Clemens was a newspaper editor for the Grand Encampment Herald, the newspaper of Grand Encampment, Wyoming.State of Wyoming USA -Equality State (official);Cowboy State; Big Wyoming;Wonderful Wyoming,motto- Equal Rights official anthem and flag state Wyoming.The song was adopted as the official state song on February 15, 1955.Knapp — a baritone singer and choral conductor — was professor of voice and director of the music department University of Wyoming from 1920 to 1930.Governor Fenimore Chatterton has been credited as the first to announce Wyoming as the official state song, during a 1903 convention in Sheridan of the State Industrial Association. The song was later endorsed as the official song by the state press association, state industrial convention and the state university, then Wyoming State University.State song Wyoming lyrics :In the far and mighty West,
Where the crimson sun seeks rest,
There's a growing splendid state that lies above,
On the breast of this great land;
Where the massive Rockies stand,
There's Wyoming young and strong, the State I love!
In the flowers wild and sweet,
Colors rare and perfumes meet;
There's the columbine so pure, the daisy too,
Wild the rose and red it springs,
White the button and its rings,
Thou art loyal for they're red and white and blue.
Wyoming, Wyoming! Land of the sunlight clear!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Land that we hold so dear!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Precious art thou and thine!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Beloved state of mine.

Top 10 Best Ghost Photographs
With a lot of ghost stories, the people who were the bases for the ghosts are sometimes lost in the details. They are explained in generalities and not usually given names. The reasons for this are many, for example, perhaps the identity of the ghost isn’t known. Or perhaps, the whole story of the haunting is fiction. But there are cases where real people are murdered and after their deaths, there are claims that they still haunt the places with special meaning to them.
