Galilee Eskimos
The sun rises over an abandoned and desolate kibbutz. Twelve senior citizens awake in the kibbutz old-people's home to discover they have been forgotten and abandoned. All belong to the group which initially founded the kibbutz, their children having long since moved away, and there is no-one to take care of them.

Degania Bet Kibbutz Hotel, Sea of Galilee
The first hotel out of two where I stayed in Israel. The first hotel which was Degania Bet Kibbutz Hotel at the Sea of Galilee. This hotel in my personal opinion was nice due to the vast area to explore and such.
Degania Bet Kibbutz Country Lodging is a short walk from the Sea of Galilee. It offers lots of recreational facilities, including a swimming pool and indoor soccer and basketball courts.
All rooms at Degania Bet Kibbutz offer air conditioning, cable TV, and a small kitchenette with coffee maker. Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas.
Parking is free at the Kibbutz Country Lodging. You can rent bikes at reception and use the barbecue facilities on the grounds.
The hotel is 7.5 miles from the historic city of Tiberias. You can enjoy rafting and kayaking on the Sea of Galilee. - From Booking.com
Pagoda Restaurant - Tiberias Israel - with Villa RImona
One of the things we love about being in Yavne'el is that it is so close to Tiberias and everything it has to offer. We'll pop into town to do errands a couple of times a week. Recently we took time out to try the Pagoda Restaurant. It is right on the lake. Because everything on the menu is NOT mehadrin, we had to first speak to the mashgiach and pick and choose our items frin the menu. Food was great and it was a real treat to dine by the lake.
Review Lavi Kibbutz Hotel, Israel
Lavi Kibbutz is a religious Kibbutz in the Galilee region of Israel. It is a farming community with several different industries, including a hotel, to support it. The hotel is not luxurious. But, I really liked it. Others in my tour group did not care for it. But I personally enjoyed it. My room was clean, nice dead sea amenities, beautiful Mosaic on the bathroom floor. Also, the metal artwork panels on each side of my bed appeared to be dual function unique art. They were beautiful panels, that also functioned as lighting. I had a very large patio/balcony adjoining my room as well. This was my personal favorite out of all the hotels we stayed on my tour to Israel, and I would stay again. We were invited by the Kibbutz to join them in their special ceremony being held for dead and wounded soldiers, part of the Israeli independance season. Very touching.
Very nice informative meeting explaining life on a religious kibbutz, very pleasant staff. Very good food, and it is kosher for those who require that during their stay.

The Yigal Allon Center, home to the Jesus Boat on Kibbutz Ginosar, Israel
An interesting overview of the Yigal Alon Center located on Kibbutz Ginosar in the Galilee of Israel. The most famous exhibit is of course as home to the Ancient Galilee Boat a.k.a. The Jesus Boat. A great video for future guests who want to see the Jesus Boat first hand to give them an idea of the exhibits displayed at the center.
Kibbutz Nof Ginosar
In Israel, a kibbutz, or gathering/clustering, is a collective community traditionally based on agriculture. Degania, the first kibbutz was established in 1909. Kibbutz Nof Ginosar was founded in early 1937 by young Socialist Zionists. Kibbutz Nof Ginosar was also the home of Yigal Allon, a military leader and, later, a political leader who believed in peaceful coexistence between Arabs and Jews. Today the primary source of income for the Kibbutz Nof Ginosar is from tourism. It was originally an agricultural community. The Yigal Allon Centre museum is on the grounds of the Kibbutz near the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

Meron - Aerial views (BibleWalks.com)
Meron is a modern Moshav, famous for the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai (Rashbi) which attracts tens of thousands in the annual festival of Lag Ba-Omer.
Ruins of the Roman/Byzantine and Arab periods village are scattered around the summit in the center of the modern community. Rock hewn tombs are located around the site.
A grand 3rd century synagogue is located on the summit. The basilica style structure, cut into the bedrock, is one of the largest ancient synagogues, used as an example for other Galilean synagogues erected in the Byzantine period. Its plan is a large room with a set of 8 columns on each side, and 3 door entrances on the south east facade. This aerial footage focuses on the synagogue and the tower located on its west side.
The area may have been known in the Biblical periods as Mei Merom, one of Joshua's victorious battles against the Canaanites.

My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
