Tatsumaki - Oberlin College Taiko [Commencement 2017]

Hiroshi Tanaka wrote Tatsumaki for Stanford Taiko as one of their first originally composed pieces. It is now a staple in their repertoire, as well as an open source piece, thus free for the entire taiko community to learn and perform. This piece evokes the energy and power of tatsumaki, which means ‘tornado.’ This piece was learned and then taught to OCT seniors by Jason Ihm.

Portland Japanese Children's Fair: Taiko Drums

So I went to the Japanese Children's Fair in Portland Oregon on my birthday (may 11). The first thing that we did was to watch the Taiko drum performance! This was so amazing! I could feel the whole room vibrating with the sound of the drums!
This was taken on my iphone, so the video isn't horribly good, but enjoy! :)
