The picturesque waterfall fed by the Ambika River is a favourite among tourists and is frequented by nature lovers. Situated about 3 km from the Waghai Town in Dang District, Gira Falls is a 75 ft fall that emerges from the Kapri Tributary and drops into the Ambika River.
Capturing the beauty of Gira Falls in its true form never gets better and it makes for a great weekend trip from Saputara. It makes as a great stopover for those travelling from Saputara towards Surat. The best season to visit the waterfalls is during and after the monsoon season.
The speed of the water plunging into the river creates a foggy look giving it a charming feel. It attracts tourists looking to get a break from city life and is gradually developing into a popular picnic spot.
The falls is located on the river Gira near the Girmal village, which is about 8 km west of Shingala. It can either be reached via the road connecting Ahwa and Singala or Navapur and Singala. Vehicles are allowed to a point about one kilometer from the waterfall. From the parking area, the enchanting waterfalls can be reached only by walking.
One must visit Saputara- the only hill station in Gujarat where there are many things to do to keep yourself busy. The most popular attraction here is the Saputara Lake which is located right in the middle of the valley amidst lush greenery. You can hire boats and enjoy the tranquil lake.
Tourists also visit the beautiful botanical garden nearby which has a variety of plants and trees, providing a marvelous view of different varieties of bamboo groves. A trip to the Vansda National Park is ideal if you wish to spot a tiger or a leopard.
There are no accommodation options around the waterfall but Saputara has many hotels, cottages and log huts with decent facilities.
Vansda National Park: Originally, a private forest of maharaja of Vansada, the park now covers an area of 24 sq km. Despite its small size, the park has tigers, leopards, pangolin, Rusty-spotted Cat, python, giant squirrel, four-horned antelopes amongst many animals. Prior permission from the Chief Wildlife Warden is required before visiting the park.
Saputara: The picturesque hill station of Saputara, located 50 km from Gira Falls, is perched on a plateau in the Dang forest area of the Sahyadri Range. Saputara is the only hill station in Gujarat and is blessed with natural beauty and bio-diversity and has much to offer in the form of gardens, parks and sanctuaries.
Purna Wildlife Sanctuary: Known to have the thickest forest cover in Gujarat, Purna Wildlife Sanctuary is situated, 50 km from Saputara. Animals include leopards, sloth bears and rhinoceros. The sanctuary also has high tribal population.

Waghai is a town in the Dang District of the southern part of Gujarat state in India. And also Taluka of dang district. Waghai is about 32 km north from the district headquarters of Ahwa, and about 52 km south of the hill station of Saputara. It is linked by state highway to the town of Chikhli (where the road meets National highway 8), and by a narrow gauge to the town of Bilimora. Also with Saputara a NG passenger train named. Waghai Passenger link these towns of south Gujarat.

Gira Waterfall is the most popular waterfall of Gujarat. Located few minutes from Waghai Town of Dangs district Gujarat, Gira fall gushes during monsoon season & is less active in other seasons. Tourists visiting Saputara often make a stop at Gira Falls.
Other location in this video is Dungarda Railway Bridge. It is one of my favorite places in the Dangs. Girafalls are often misunderstood with Girmal falls. Both are in Dang but located far away from each other. Be careful.

Gira Waterfalls are a beautiful seasonal cascade situated in a verdant setting, about 50 km away from Saputara. This waterfall is formed by the watercourse of the Gira River after it falls from 75 feet high cliff. The water spills over the cliff at a very high speed, which creates conditions similar to dense fog.
On a clear day you can even spot a rainbow above the waterfall. With the arrival of the monsoon season, this falls experience a heavy flow of water and can be witnesses in its full glory. Owing to the unspoilt natural beauty and increasing popularity of the Gira Waterfalls, efforts are being made to turn it into a tourist hot spot.

The Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya is a gorgeous waterfall, located on the Zambia and Zimbabwe border. The water of Zambezi river falls down in a straight line for 354 ft (108 m). It is wide ( 5,604 ft/1,708 m), therefore water spray raises very high and can be spotted from many kilometers away.
