GLASSTORM is now firmly established as one of Britain’s most exciting and vibrant hot glass studios.
The team has developed a reputation as being experts and pioneers in the niche field of luxury glass products led by the creative duo Brodie Nairn & Nichola Burns.
Established in 2005 by these two highly acclaimed glass artists/designers in 2005 the studio located in the ancient Scottish Highland borough of Tain, a picturesque town on the east coast.
The studio provides a friendly confidential bespoke range of services including glass design, consultancy, proto-typing and manufacture. Having each worked internationally within the glass industry for over twenty years Brodie and Nicky bring a wealth of technical knowledge and creative flair to all the projects they undertake.
The studio’s aim is to create works to the very highest quality. It is attention to detail, passion and knowledge that Brodie and Nichola share with their clients that creates such a successful working relationship resulting in stunningly beautiful handcrafted works.

With a large emphasis on elegance and strong contemporary design, GLASSTORM is now firmly established as one of Britain's most exciting and vibrant hot glass studios.
The studio creates unique artworks and its own GLASSTORM range of functional glassware, alongside designing and manufacturing bespoke glass for architectural and public projects, as well as for the film/media and luxury drinks industry.
The studio was established by the creative duo glass artists/designers Brodie Nairn & Nichola Burns in 2005. Both have firmly established themselves within the glass art scene in Italy, Switzerland, Germany and The Netherlands. Returning back to Scotland in 2005, they created their new glass studio and gallery in the beautiful town of Tain in the Highlands of Scotland.
Many of their works have been exhibited in prominent museums and galleries and are held in both private and public collections.
Brodie and Nichola are passionate about their business and glass as a material and share the same goal to ALWAYS STRIVE FOR ELEGANCE AND EXCELLENCE.

The film explores some of the biggest names in the industry, including Richard Paterson, a master blender whose nose was insured for $2.5 million, Glasstorm, a company specialising in hand-made bottles for rare whiskies that sell for over $10,000 each, and the Cinderella tale of Jim McEwan, the distiller and master blender, a 50 year plus industry veteran who takes on a dilapidated distillery on his home island of Islay in the Inner Hebrides and turns it into an award-winning blend. McEwan acts as the film’s ambassador, guiding us to discover the process and the people, who they are, their personal histories, how they came to immerse themselves in the art and science of making whisky, their drive for perfection.
