Glen Garriff - Go Fund Me Campaign Video
Glen Garriff (GG) Conserservation is a lion sanctuary for the lions in need. We provide an environment where our animals can live in safety, be treated with the compassion and respect they deserve, free of abuse and persecution.
Thousand's of Lions are held worldwide in captivity, many in appalling circumstances. According to IFAW in the US alone It’s been estimated that upwards of 10,000 big cats like tigers, lions and cougars are kept captive by private owners. Although wild animal circus bans do exist, in Europe and parts of South America, sadly many animals continue to be abused and exploited in these attractions.
The costs of running this project has become a major challenge for us at GG Conservation and this is where we need your help.

WildiZe with Andi Rive Love Lions Alive
There is a huge market in South Africa for dead or soon to become dead lions, from an industry where the value in these spectacular creatures lies in their demise: What they will look like as trophies on the wall, a mats on the floor, or their carcass for the bones. We’ve discussed the canned lion industry from all sides except one: The lions themselves.
GG Conservation Adopt A Lion
Glen Garriff Conservation
Is a lion sanctuary, offering a safe and healthy environment for lions. They have developed a breeding program. In the last few years research has shown that most of the lions left in the wild are infected with potentially fatal diseases. The wild lion population currently exists in a precariously false balance and could be significantly reduced by feline diseases, rendering this wild population in a state of collapse. As GG continues to grow, so have the costs of maintaining the ever growing lion population. This is where we need your help, please help us keep the lions safe. This is why our adopt a lion campaign is so important. Visit our Gofundme page online to learn more about our campaign, how you can help us and the exciting rewards we have for those who contribute, no matter the amount.

Smokey the Lions hugs his favourite human pal
WATCH as this stubborn lion refuses to budge from blocking the road into a conservation camp until he gets enough attention from his favourite human pal.
The cute clip shows mighty lion, Smokey make a beeline for the conservation worker to indulge in a shower of cuddles before he eventually does what’s being asked of him.
Lion manager Mike duly obliges and strokes Smokey’s mane before trying to coax him through the gate to clear the passage for vehicles.
The heartwarming footage was filmed at GG Conservation Glen Garriff in South Africa.

Powerful yet vulnerable
“For every lion in the wild, there are 14 African elephants, and there are 15 Western lowland gorillas. There are more rhinos than lions, too.
The iconic species has disappeared from 94 percent of its historic range, which once included almost the entire African continent but is now limited to less than 660,000 square miles. With fewer than an estimated 25,000 in Africa, lions are listed as vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, which determines the conservation status of species” Source - National Geographic. Did you know how this iconic species is so powerful and yet so vulnerable??
