Hiking Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park | Journey Alberta
Today I travel out to the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park with my friend Jesse to do the Tiger Lily Loop hike! From the parking lot we start the short 1.8km trail. Along the way we see some old abandoned automobiles off the side of the trail. One thing I notice as we descend initially is that there are so many birds in this park, all making their presence known with chirping. Eventually we get a pond where we relax for a bit before heading back uphill to the viewpoint.

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park - Cochrane, Alberta, Canada
A sweeping view over the east side of Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park between Calgary and Cochrane, Alberta, Canada from the lookout at the center of Tiger Lily Loop. Adjacent to the Bow River, this beautiful park in the Alberta foothills is also a working ranch, rich in historical interpretive displays and open to the public year round. Worth a visit.

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park Winter | Journey Alberta
I explore Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park in the winter! My goal for the day is to see the sunset from the viewpoint near the parking lot, but before the sunset I do the short hike along the Tiger Lily Loop. One of my favourite things about this park is that both times I've been here I've basically had the whole park to myself. It's the perfect little escape seeing as it's in between Calgary and Cochrane!

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, Alberta, Canada
A morning hike in Spring, 2012. The Weather Gods were capricious that day, and sun kept peeking in and out of clouds. Snow flurries fell every now and then, and the wind was chilly enough to numb trigger-happy fingers.

The Historic Cochrane Ranche Site in 4K | Journey Alberta
I explore the Historic Cochrane Ranche Site located in the town of Cochrane in today's new video! My friend Jesse joins me as we wander through the forested trails of the park. Jesse reminisces about his time spent in the park as a student as we make our way up to the statue of a man on a horse. From that vantage point we can see tons of smoke coming from the Rocky Mountains, specifically the Verdant Creek Wildfire near Banff National Park.
