Pap of Glencoe hike, Scotland
PAP of Glencoe, Scotland 2016.
After hiking the 3 lochs way - we took a bus up through Glencoe and stayed at the village overnight.
Fantastic hike with great views of Kinlochleven, Ballachulish and Loch Leven, with Glen Coe brooding in the background.

Photography at Glencoe and the Harry Potter Train in Scotland
Photography was finally on the plan today in Scotland. We started at Glencoe and ended up at the Harry Potter train.
For more of my travel photography check out my IG at @brendanvanson.
Photography at Glencoe was really high on my list of places to shoot in Scotland. So, I was pretty stoked to see it on my schedule for this project. I've wanted to shoot a location here for ages, but I really didn't know where to go. Luckily, I quizzed Chris the other day, and he pointed me to a place called Ralston Plaque.
Landscape photography in Scotland is always a mission, too. The weather is never perfect, and it changes from minute to minute. So, even when you think the weather is going to be terrible, you have to go up and do some shooting, and hope for the best. Unfortunately, the light wasn't the greatest.
Luckily, landscape photography at Glencoe is always amazing because even if the light is bad, the location is so amazing that it still works.
After my sunrise photogrpahy at Glencoe, I was supposed to go to see the Harry Potter train crossing. But, I had limited time, so I really had to race. Luckily, I got there just before it arrived.
The Harry Potter train is cool, too! I was actually pretty stoked about it. I think it would be an amazing location to shoot if it was a really cold morning and the steam from the train was really strong.
That said, the Harry Potter train comes and goes so fast that you really only have one shot at it. So, I thought I liked my idea for my shot, but I'm not super stoked with it. Still, it's cool.
And, just seeing the Harry Potter train was cool enough.
In the afternoon, I headed towards the town of Oban where I got a massage before the rains came in and I called it a day.
Tomorrow, there's another Scotland vlog. So, stay tuned!

The Scottish Highlands: 24 hours in Glencoe
We headed up to Glencoe, Scotland in this vlog and explored some more of the Scottish Highlands.
It has to be some of the most incredible landscape in Scotland. Maybe even the UK. Maybe even the world.
Seriously though, there is something mesmerising about the trip up there and I can't recommend this enough!
The place we stayed is called River Beds Lodges. It was nestled in the forest, by a bubbling brook and was perfect.

Glencoe (is it really?)
A few weeks back I headed up to Glencoe to shoot an area that previously I couldn't get to due to the water levels. This time I was more fortunate and managed to get up river to the waterfall.
The video features the shots I managed to get in the morning before the weather turned. You'll also see how I edited using Luminar 3 the focus stacked image of the waterfall I was after.
Midgies!! loads and loads of them and they eventually won so I had to head back up and away from the river.

Best Winter Drive In Britain A82 Road Glencoe Highlands Scotland
Tour Scotland Winter travel video of part of a road trip drive, with beautiful Scottish music, North and West on the A82 road into Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands, Britain. The route to Glen Coe is one of the most famous driving roads in Scotland and Britain. The A82 is a major road in Scotland that runs from Inverness via Fort William to Glasgow. The route is derived in several places from the military roads constructed through the Highlands by General George Wade and Major William Caulfeild in the 18th century, along with later roads constructed by Thomas Telford in the 19th century. Tourists find the A82 a popular route because of its scenery, and it serves as a main artery for commercial and heavy goods traffic. Two of the three Highlander films starring Christopher Lambert were filmed here. The opening battle scene near the beginning of the film takes place between the mountains of Buchaille Etive Mor and Buchaille Etive Beag, at the entrance to the Glen. This Highlands location featured in Skyfall the James Bond movie, and Harry Potter films mainly because it is the most famous Scottish glen and one of the most dramatic landscapes in the world. The A82 runs from Glasgow to Fort William and Inverness, passing along the shores of Loch Lomond and Loch Ness and in the shadow of Ben Nevis along the way. It is probably the most important trunk route serving the West Highlands of Scotland, and along its route uses pieces of road first built in the 1750s. Glencoe was the scence of one of the most infamous massacres in Scottish history. Driving from either Glasgow, Edinburgh or Perth, Perthshire are great Glencoe driving routes. Distance is 92 miles from Glasgow, 119 miles from Edinburgh or 88 miles from Perth. Approximate time to drive is 2 hours 10 minutes from Glasgow and 2 hours 50 minutes from Edinburgh and 2 hours 18 minutes from Perth.

AMAZING GLENCOE - How the WEATHER influences Landscape Photography
When it comes to the weather it plays a major role in landscape photography. Just as much as light - it shapes light! We really experienced it first hand in Glen Coe, which is famous for hiking and landscape photography! In this episode I do Milky Way photography (who knew??) above Glencoe Lochan, I visit the famous Etive Mor Waterfall and climb the mountain Beinn a'Chrulaiste to get the best perspective of the mountain Buachaille Etive Mor and take my best photo from Great Britain! I hope you'll enjoy this epic vlog and learn just how much the weather influences landscape photography!

Photo Scotland | Glencoe & The Hidden Valley
This week I took a trip up The Hidden Valley / The Lost Valley, both seems to be correct, with the camera. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect hike from the fantastic sunrise at Glencoe, the fabulous snowy hike up The Hidden Valley and to top it off a little drive up Glen Etive, all with some fantastic light and photos.
Photos in the Glencoe Snow | Photo Scotland
Today I'm back in the Glencoe area with a fantastic view of the Glen. Walking up from Ballachulish the hiking gets pretty tough straight away. With a backpack full of photography equipment and my DJI Msvic, I was struggling. Some amazing wintery scenery including clouds, snow and sun and it didn't rain once. As always breathtaking scenery in the Scottish Highlands. I hope you get some photography ideas and tips from my video.
