Glenmacnass Waterfall Wicklow Ireland
The Glenmacnass Waterfall (Irish: Gleann Log an Easa, meaning The glen of the hollow of the waterfall) is a waterfall on the Glenmacnass River and constitutes the beginning of the Glenmacnass valley. The valley ends near the village of Laragh in County Wicklow and can be easily traversed by the Military Road joining Sally Gap to Laragh.

The Waterfall is usually less wild than this, but on this occasion there had been a lot of rainfall previously.
I have created artwork of the view from the Waterfall and the Glenmacnass Valley, I will upload this soon and also link to other artwork of County Wicklow that I have created for you to view.

SUNDAY FAMILY DAY AT WATERFALL POWERS COURT WICKLOW DUBLIN IRELAND | 03-10-16
Powerscourt Waterfall Ireland’s Highest Waterfall
Visit Powerscourt Waterfall, the highest waterfall in Ireland at 121m (398ft.). The waterfall is set at the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, 5km from Powerscourt House And Gardens. Be drawn in by the sound of the water and relax as you stroll around the grounds with your family and friends. There is a vast amount of space to keep children entertained. There is also a refreshment kiosk, toilets and a playground for younger children.
As you drive from the gate lodge towards the Waterfall you are surrounded by Beech, Oak, Larch and Pine trees, some of which were planted over 200 years ago. Look out for the Giant Redwood or Sequoia trees which are native to California and were planted at Powerscourt sometime after 1860. In their native land they may grow up to 80m high and live for 4,000 years, the trees at Powerscourt are still youngsters!
Bring a picnic or enjoy a barbecue at the waterfall with your family.
Don’t fret if you forget your picnic as there is a kiosk on site serving coffee, tea, sandwiches, and most importantly, ice-cream! The kiosk is open every day from the 1st June to the end of August and year round at weekends, as long as the weather is fine.
Facilities at the Waterfall
There is ample car parking and toilet facilities at the waterfall. Dogs are welcome but please keep them on a leash.
There is an entrance fee when you enter the waterfall gate and they also offer an annual fee. So we advice that you inquire first before going to the place so that you will be prepared for the cost.
Hiking from Glenmacnass Waterfall to Tonelagee
I'd rate this as a moderate level hike due to the fact you have to scramble to get to the summit. The mountain is very exposed with no shelter on the ridge loop so make sure you check the weather before taking this on. A must see is the standing stone on the descent which has an inscribed cross on it. Lough Ouler is the focal point of this loop and it is an amazing heart shaped lake.

An August drive through the Wicklow Mountains. The weather was very changeable, sunshine, fog, and rain, hence the difference in lighting conditions. I'm afraid the editing needs some work!
