One of The Best Enduro Trails at Glentress | Daves Trail
Daves Trail is one of the Enduro trails in the Janet's Brae area at Glentress. It starts off super flowy and becomes more technical and steep further down. In my opinion, it's one of the best trails here!

Glentress Descent from Spooky Woods [OCT 2019]
One of the great things about being in your forties is that you have learned the importance of being able to seize the day.
After a small back injury which has kept me from riding for over a month, I decided to pack up my suitcase, jump on a plane to Scotland and re-visit Glentress (I was last there 7 years ago with my good friend Marc).
If like me you are used to mainly ride in South East England the 10 km climb to the top of Spooky Woods will, let's just say, give a good work-out to your lungs. but the reward is amazing
Shout out to Alpine Bike who I hire an absolutely brilliant Santa Cruz Megatower C29 (I literally feel in Love with that bike).

Whether it’s discovering a secret cove, driving a coastal road or riding deep into the woods, you’ll find Dumfries & Galloway and the Scottish Borders is where you can simply ‘be’.
Strap on your helmet and feel the wind tease your skin as you ride the trails at a 7Stanes centre. These seven mountain biking centres spread across the south offer the best riding experiences in the UK, if not beyond. Glentress in the Tweed Valley Forest Park, near Peebles, is ideal for first-timers, with bike hire and easy trails.
There’s more than one adventure to be had at Glentress. Take to the treetops as you navigate the thrilling challenges of Go Ape!, an aerial assault course set high above the ground, and get a unique perspective of the forest.
Standing at the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point, it’ll feel like you’ve reached the end of the world, with sea stretching as far as the eye can see. Venture to the top of the lighthouse, perched on the edge of a 260 ft high cliff, and take in the natural drama of this breathtaking peninsula.
Across in the Scottish Borders near Eyemouth, St Abb’s Head National Nature Reserve near Eyemouth, is where the cries of seabirds catch in the wind and exhilarating scenery of beautiful coastal headland can be seen from cliff top paths.
Sheltered Coldingham Bay in the Scottish Borders enjoys north easterly swells where surfers can charge into the water and ride on the crest of white horses, while for those wanting to stay on dry land, the pretty inlet has a lovey sandy beach and coastal walks.
Historic wonders can be found across the south, lying in wait of the curious. Step back thousands of years at Cairn Holy Chambered Cairns, near Creetown in Dumfries & Galloway, and gaze down towards the Solway Coast. It’s one of many sites you can find as you explore the Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Biosphere, with its world-renowned UNESCO status. Wildlife-rich spots and a diverse cultural heritage combine with special communities that care passionately about their environment.
Discover excellent walking and mountain biking trails or take a forest drive in the Galloway Forest Park – you might be lucky enough to get a peek of the timid natives. Wildlife lovers shouldn’t miss the chance to visit the Red Deer Centre or the Wild Goat Park, or you might spy rare bushy-tailed red squirrels at the hide at Kirroughtree Visitor Centre.
And when night falls, the forest park is transformed into a Dark Sky Park, the first in the UK. On a clear night, up to 7,000 twinkling stars reveal themselves to the naked eye – this magical experience has to be seen to be believed.

Peebles ☠️ Abandoned Victorian Railway Neipath Tunnel 2018
Come join myself and the pups as we travel to Peebles in the Scottish Borders.
A beautiful and historic borders town, the grave yard in Peebles is massive and is still in use today just like Polwarth Kirk a few miles away theres symbolic stones in St Andrew's Churchyard Peebles.
There is a good variety of old stones in this graveyard in Peebles. This one displays a symbol of immortality in the form of a splendid winged soul. The skull, hourglass and crossed bones are symbols of immortality. The stone is inscribed Fugit Hora (time flies) and Memento Mori (remember death)
At a neat 600 yards in length, Neidpath/South Park/Peebles/Castle Hill Tunnel - take your pick! - threaded the Symington Biggar & Broughton Railway through a projecting shoulder of rock under South Park Woods.
Originally proposed by the Caledonian Railway in 1846, the scheme met with fierce opposition from the North British Railway, operators of the line to the east of Peebles. It eventually saw steam in 1864.
In the early part of the 20th century, Nobel Prize winning scientist C T R Wilson used the tunnel - after traffic had ceased for the night - to conduct experiments with his cloud chamber to prove (or not) the existence of cosmic radiation.
The line saw a considerable amount of traffic during World War II and it is often rumoured that the tunnel served as a hiding place for the Royal Train while the King and Queen were inspecting the damage caused by the Blitz on Clydeside. However the fact that the route is single track and a stabled train would effectively block it casts much doubt on this story.
The tunnel remained operational until 7th June 1954 although the passenger service had ended four years earlier. It was latterly used by the Wemyss & March estate for the movement of timber.
Costing £14,431 to drive from either end and a central shaft, the bore is brick-lined for most of its length but with masonry portals. Although the western section is straight, a southerly curve is encountered around 150 yards from the east end. There are no refuges but, close to the centre, an unlined chamber is cut into the northern wall.
Today Neidpath Tunnel benefits from a Grade B listing
