I called the store and asked them to flip on the lights during the flight. Just kidding. It was coincidence.

Cath Carri Interviews Owner of Fantasy Balloons
To find an adventure please visit: catchcarri.com
Your spirits will soar if you take the skies with Gery Devokend, the owner and pilot of Fantasy Balloons. He has been hot-air ballooning for over 40 years and is tops in the industry. In 1978, Gery won every race he entered, including the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. Ballooning competitions are not about speed but accuracy. In one event there is a mock cow head placed on a hay bell and it's up to the pilot to lasso it above ground. Which Gery does with precision even with his cowboy hat on. He is no stranger to ballooning insane distances, even over mountains. Racking up 193 miles, he was in the air for 5 hours and 43 minutes to travel from Barr Lake in Brighton to Arlington, CO.
All it took was crewing for a pilot one time and Gery says he was hooked by the thrill of ballooning. He hadn't even launched into the clear blue skies and yet he knew he found his passion. Even though now he has flown the skies thousands of times he still breaks into a fresh smile each trip. He gets excited when his guests do, and excitement peaks when he skims the water on Chatfield Reservoir! Then it's up up and away again to brush over treetops so you can grab a bundle of leaves!
Hot air balloon ride sounds intimidating to many but the serenity that comes with escaping the chaos of the world below calms even skeptics. It is an astonishing adventure that will leave you relaxed and exhilarated. Balloon flights ends with a champagne toast and tailgate to celebrate a smooth landing.
So how does it work? Propane burners heat the air inside the balloon allowing it rise to the top. The only way to steer a balloon is wind and the winds direction changes between altitudes, so pilots move up and down to go left and right. When you go up, you add heat, when you want to go down you open a hatch on the side of a balloon to release hot air. Then you cross your fingers for a landing as smooth as Gery's!

McKinley Monument Flyover Nov 10th 2014
Flyover of the McKinley Monument in Canton, Ohio November 10th 2014.
The McKinley Monument, a landmark in the City of Canton, is the final resting place for the 25th President of the United States, William McKinley. Residents of Canton pass by the Monument or run up and down the 108 steps everyday. Traveling on Interstate 77, the Monument towers above the trees. But some may wonder: Why is such a magnificent building in Canton? The answer is quite simple. William McKinley was and is Canton's favorite son. While the President was born in Niles, Ohio, he called Canton home. After his death, it was fitting that the President be laid to rest in the city where his career began, the place where he found his true love and ran for the highest office in the land.
On September 16, 1901 the funeral train left Buffalo, New York for Washington, D.C. Following services at the United States Capitol, the President's body was placed back on the train for his final trip to Canton. On September 19 President McKinley's body was interred at the Werts Receiving Vault in Canton's West Lawn Cemetery.
After the services, several of the President's closest advisors, including William R. Day and Ohio Senator Marcus Hanna, met to discuss the location of a proper memorial to serve as a final resting place. The site chosen was often visited by McKinley. At one time, he even had suggested that a monument to soldiers and sailors from Stark County be placed there.
On September 26, 1901 the McKinley National Memorial Association was formed and President Theodore Roosevelt named the original Board of Trustees. The first order of business was to purchase the site, owned at the time by the West Lawn Cemetery. By October 10, the Association issued a public appeal for $600,000 in contributions for the construction project. Ohio Governor George K. Nash supported the effort by proclaiming McKinley's birthday in 1902 a special day of observance by the state's schools. Large numbers of school children contributed to the memorial fund, and the Association was able to purchase the proposed site.
Construction of the memorial began on June 6, 1905 when Mr. Magonigle removed the first shovel of soil from the site. ByNovember 16 the cornerstone was laid in an official ceremony attended by Mrs. McKinley and other family members.
The interior dome measures 50 feet in diameter and is 77 feet from the floor to the highest point. At the top of the dome is a red, white and blue skylight. The skylight has 45 stars in its design representing the 45 states in the Union at the time of President McKinley's death. The skylight was part of the original design, but for some reason was never installed. There was a clear glass skylight in its place. Using Magonigle's plans, and the Canton glass specialists White Associates, the 12-foot diameter skylight was installed during a restoration project in 1976.
By September 1907 the Monument and the 26 acres surrounding it were finished. Nine states had contributed material for the memorial. Ohio supplied the concrete, all of the brick, and much of the labor. Massachusetts provided the exterior granite and Tennessee the marble walls and pedestal and part of the marble floor. New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin, Illinois and Rhode Island also contributed material for the project.
After the dedication the McKinley National Memorial Association continued to administer the site. Eventually, it became difficult for the Association to maintain the structure and the grounds. In early 1941 the federal government was approached about taking over the site. With war underway in Europe, it was clear that the United States might become involved and the government did not want to take on additional financial responsibilities. In 1943, the property was transferred to the Ohio State Archaeological and Historical Society, today known as the Ohio Historical Society. In 1951 on the 50th anniversary of McKinley's death the memorial was rededicated by the state.
The memorial returned to local control in 1973 when the property was transferred to the Stark County Historical Society, owners and operators of the Wm. McKinley Presidential Library & Museum. On September 29, 1992, after years of restoration work and enhancement of the grounds the McKinley National Memorial was rededicated yet again. This rededication recognized the partnership undertaken by the Federal Government, local foundations and private citizens to honor the memory of President William McKinley.

FINDING THE BIGGEST RATTLESNAKE IN THE WORLD! (Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, Crotalus adamanteus)
You all know Florida was a lot of snakes, and big ones too! While I was down there filming some episodes, I took a few days and traveled all over the peninsular from one coast to another to try and a find the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, the biggest rattlesnake species in the world! This once common, now increasingly rare rattlesnake had me putting in the time, and effort, and in the end, how we found it was just plain incredible! This isn't the biggest specimen ever found, but a member of the biggest rattlesnake species in the world! Come and join my Florida herping adventure, and learn about some of the other reptiles found in Florida as well!
ABOUT THE EASTERN DIAMONDBACK RATTLESNAKE
The Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake Crotalus adamanteus is the largest rattlesnake species and is the heaviest known type of venomous snake, with one specimen shot in 1946 measuring 7.8 ft (2.4 m) in length and weighing 15.4 kg (34 lb). However, other venomous snakes may rival this species in weight, the much longer but more slender king cobra is probably greater in average body mass if not maximum weight and the shorter but even bulkier gaboon viper could (but is not verified to) exceed the rattlesnake in both mean adult body mass and possibly even maximum body mass. Common names include eastern diamondback rattlesnake, eastern diamond-backed rattlesnake, eastern diamondback, diamond rattlesnake, diamond-back rattlesnake, common rattlesnake, diamond-back, diamond(-patch) rattler, eastern diamond-back (rattlesnake), eastern diamond rattlesnake, Florida diamond-back (rattlesnake), Florida rattlesnake, lozenge-spotted rattlesnake, rattler, rattlesnake, southeastern diamond-backed rattlesnake, southeastern diamond-backed rattler, southern woodland rattler, water rattle, water rattlesnake, and diamondback rattlesnake. C. adamanteus is found in the southeastern United States from southeastern North Carolina, south along the coastal plain through peninsular Florida to the Florida Keys, and west along the Gulf Coast through southern Alabama and Mississippi to southeastern Louisiana.

Imperialism: Crash Course World History #35
In which John Green teaches you about European Imperialism in the 19th century. European powers started to create colonial empires way back in the 16th century, but businesses really took off in the 19th century, especially in Asia and Africa. During the 1800s, European powers carved out spheres of influence in China, India, and pretty much all of Africa. While all of the major (and some minor) powers in Europe participated in this new imperialism, England was by far the most dominant, once able to claim that the sun never set on the British Empire. Also, they went to war for the right to continue to sell opium to the people of China. Twice. John will teach you how these empires managed to leverage the advances of the Industrial Revolution to build vast, wealth-generating empires. As it turns out, improved medicine, steam engines, and better guns were crucial in the 19th century conquests. Also, the willingness to exploit and abuse the people and resources of so-called primitive nations was very helpful in the whole enterprise.
