Gloucester Massachusetts fishing town...one of my favorite fishing places next to Rockport...Perfect Storm motion picture was filmed here because of all the fisherman lost at sea during hurricanes....included are bronze statues dedicated to the Lost At Sea fisherman and women left behind with children...this is another picturesque village for art lovers like Rockport...artists are everywhere painting the scenery...

If you ever get the chance to come to the New England area, seize it. One thing that I'm beginning to realize is that, no matter how long you decide to visit, you won't have enough time to see everything the area has to offer. You'll be planning your next trip before you're done with your first one. There is so much history in the region, the birthplace of the United States of America. Gloucester is a coastal city on Cape Ann, in Massachusetts. Its fishing heritage is reflected in the harbor-side Fisherman’s Memorial, with a statue and names of those lost at sea. Cape Ann Museum has work by 1800s maritime artist Fitz Henry Lane. East, the sands of Good Harbor Beach extend to Salt Island at low tide. Southwest, 1920s medieval-style Hammond Castle Museum was home to inventor John Hays Hammond, Jr.

Why do tourists come to Gloucester?
Why is it that tourists come to Gloucester? Those of us who know and love Gloucester know that it is the uniqueness of the US' oldest working fishing port, the history of the birthplace of seperation of church and state where in 1780 freed slaves were founding memebers of the Unitarian Church, the country's oldest working art colony, they natural beauty of our beaches and wooded areas, the literary history of Olsen, the adventures and hardships depicted in books and movies.... It's an incredible place... and despite what some developers might think we are not Miami and a Huge Beach resort separating the ocean from the historic district and cutting off the view of Ten Pound Island fits as well with this amazing city as the soundtrack of this video fits with most of the images here shown.

Culadasa (John Yates, Ph.D.) is a meditation master with over four decades of experience in the Tibetan and Theravadin Buddhist traditions. He taught physiology and neuroscience for many years at the Universities of Calgary and British Columbia. Later, he worked at the forefront of healthcare education and therapeutic massage, serving as the founding director of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.
