Lithgow 4x4 – Glow Worm Tunnel and Lost City

This trip we head for Lithgow on Friday afternoon and struggle to find the campsite. The next day we wake up to amazing views before heading to the Glow Worm Tunnel. We managed to capture an incredible photo inside the Tunnel which shows 100s of Glow Worms. After spending a little too much time exploring the area around the Glow Worm Tunnel we head for the lost city and that’s when things start to get fun! A very wet Lost City trails puts the Discovery is put through its paces to say the least.

Glow Worm Tunnel, Lithgow

To see the glow worms go straight to 10.20 on the clip.
This is a glow worm tunnel I visited with my dad. It's near Lithgow (Wollemi National Park) and was really nice. There was a dirt road we had to take which took about 1hr. We stopped first to eat at Lithgow which is a nice little town. You can take a non 4x4 but you will struggle with the dirt road because it's really bumpy. Anyway hope you enjoy. I'll be going to Currarong/Jervis Bay Gosanga Tunnel next. Also at 6.25 there's another small cave you can go to as well.

In this video we lock the hubs in low range and
hit the track to The Lost City not far from Lithgow. After taking in the picturesque scenery we make our way to the wonderful Glow Worm Tunnel. Then we make our way to Little Capertee via Blackfellows Hand Trail.

Great place to see the Glow worms ???? natural Environment. just Remember to pack a torch ???? as the tunnel is about 400 meters long ,slightly curved and is uneven underfoot in places ..when you walk in some Distance , turn your torch ???? off keep noise minimum as Glow worms ???? are sensitive to Sound and be amazed at the glow worms lighting the place up just likea starry night ????????

Depending on which direction you get the tunnel, depends on how long you have to walk . If coming in from the Newnes platea side . Then it is Responsibly short flat walk about 1km from car ???? parking area , but if coming from Wolgan valley, then you have a long climb ????‍♂️ around of 7km ????

Wonderful experience with friends
This place is Breathtaking and what i loved about it was that it wasn’t too crowded its was good to see that real Glowworms in the bluse mountains ⛰
I would recommend this to Anyone who wants to get away ????‍♂️
