Walks in Sussex: Exploring the Village of Glynde, near Lewes, East Sussex
Today I am taking a gentle stroll through the delightful village of Glynde, close to Lewes in East Sussex and at the edge of the South Downs.
The church is a delight for 18th century building and make my way up the hill from the station to explore it.

Walks in England: In Search of the Rodmell Windmills
I am out in the countryside south of Lewes, East Sussex, in the charming village of Rodmell. It was here that Virginia Woolf lived and up on the south downs that she walked dreaming up the story lines for her books.
I am here in search of Windmills. I gather there were three of them at different times, all on the same hill side.

Walks in Sussex: Pulborough's Mystery Moat
Today I meet up with Richard Suggett, born and bred in Pulborough, West Sussex. He takes around his childhood playground, the moat on the hill, the scheduled monument where once stood a manor house. It burnt down in 1200 and a second manor house was erected a little to the north.
Richard Suggett runs a podcast, The Veg Growers Podcast. Tune in and find hints and tips on growing vegetables in your garden:

Falmer to Glynde, 4/9/13.
Another corker! 12 miles of walking through some quieter parts of the South Downs, with some great views! Lunch on the Downs above Rodmell, before continuing on through Southease, over the River Ouse, and then passing by the new youth hostel and up on to Itford Hill. Thereafter, it's a gentle descent into Glynde for the train home.
Another wonderful day's walking!
Walks in England: Shoreham Fort and Harbour
My England Walks take me to Shoreham Fort at the harbour mouth at Shoreham by Sea in West Sussex. In the 1850s, the English were worried about invasion from France and decided to fortify the coastline. They build a redoubt fortress at Littlehampton and Shoreham complete with a Carnot Wall.
I take a brief walk around the fort and then on to the west harbour wall.

Walks in Sussex: Beyond Rodmell and the South Downs
Previously I took a walk up to Windmill Hill in Rodmell in East Sussex, south of Lewes, looking for windmills. In this video I continue my stroll across the windy south downs.
Many of my viewers have told me that they cannot get out or up on to the downs for whatever reason and appreciate the fact that I take the camera up there for them. I am more than happy to oblige.

Exploring Sussex: Climbing Mount Caburn, Nr Lewes.
I am out with my son, Billy, to climb an ancient hill close to Lewes, the county town in East Sussex. Mount Caburn may only be 480 feet about sea level, but it's a good workout for the legs and heart, especially in the wind. We parked our car in the village of Glynde and took the most direct route. We wanted to reach the old Iron Age Hill Fort and enjoy the views.
