Gnomesville Western Australia
Our weekend trip to Gnomesville in Wellington Mill, Western Australia. Only 2 hours from Perth, we visited this iconic tourist attraction in a single day. Perfect for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Gnomesville (Western Australia)
200 Klms south of Perth, Western Australia, near the small town of Daradanup, is located GNOMESVILLE.
GNOMESVILLE began as a political commentary on the Daradanup Shire decission to build a Roundabout at the intersection of Ferguson & Wellington Mill Roads. The Roundabout was a complete overkill and was not needed as the whole area had a very low level of passing traffic. Someone placed a Gnome with a shovel in the middle of the Roundabout. From then it grew. Eventually the Roundabout was removed (because it made the road unsafe) and all the Gnomes were shifted across the road into the neighbouring bushland.
Gnomesville - Western Australia
Gnomesville is one of the most amazing places we have ever been to in W.A.
Apparently it all originated as a protest against the building of a nearby round-a-bout. One gnome placed in protest became two and they multiplied.
They have continued to multiply in the out of the way bush location until it became a Gnome city where people from all over the world bring new Gnomes to 'live' in the Australian bush.
Some Gnomes get old and crumble away but there are always more turning up to take their place.
Gnomesville can be found on the corner of Wellington Mill and Ferguson Roads east of Dardanup.

Gnomesville, Western Australia
Another fabulous weekend and a daytrip with the kids to the south west for the annual visit to Gnomesville.
Gnomesville is located in the Ferguson Valley (Wellington Mill Road and Ferguson Road, Dardanup), 200kms from Perth featuring 1000s of gnomes whom have migrated here from all over the country. The kids absolutely love this place and each year we bring a gnome of our own to add to the many villages of gnomes already living there.
Gnomes Take Over Woman's Property In Gnomesville, Australia
Donalie Haynes no longer thinks it's cute that her backyard is being overtaken by gnome shrines. For no apparent reason, people have been decorating Ferguson Valley with gnomes. Hundreds of them. But the phenomenon is spreading into the neighbors' properties and officials will take action.

Just outside Wellington Mill, Gnomesville is a magical Gnome village that sprung up at random 20-ish years ago. Noone knows by whom the first gnome was left there, or why, but it was soon joined by hundreds and hundreds of gnomes, left by people visiting from miles around.

Top 30 run from Round 3 of our PDMBC State Downhill series in 2017. Sick track and perfect weather with a pretty average run. Kind of spewing.
Gnomesville
Gnomesville is located near Dardanup South Western Australia. A great place to visit and enjoy the Gnome community.
Destination WA - Ferguson Valley and Honeymoon Pool
We go on holiday for all sorts of reasons! Today, Chrissy goes on holiday to release some garden gnomes to Australia’s third best road side stop; Gnomesville.
Dardanup Heritage Park - Western Australia
We had two main destinations to see outside central Bunbury. The first was Dardanup Heritage Park which was one place we have been told over and over again that we should visit.
It isn't far from Bunbury and can be reached via the Outer Ring Road and then south into Moore Road. Watch for the sign as you drive south on Moore Road.
The entry fee wasn't what I would call cheap but I soon came to realise why, when I saw the extent of the exhibits inside.
The park is probably the best single attraction in the area eclipsing even the wonder of Gnomesville. It is by far the best privately operated museum of its type that we have seen anywhere in W.A.
The collection of vehicles, machinery and memorabilia at the Heritage Park is really second to none. I would suggest that you don't go for a short visit because if you really want to enjoy this place, set aside at least two or three hours or even more.
The park opens on Sundays and Wednesdays from 9:30am to 4pm. I think it would be great if it was open more days in the week as I am sure many visitors miss out if they are not in the area during the opening times.
We shot plenty of footage at the park and will be producing a video showing you why you really should take the time to visit.
Most of the vehicles and machinery have been fully restored to working condition and it is great to see some of the vehicles being driven around. There are also live demonstrations of Tangye engines and for those who are interested in military history, the Bunbury RSL has a wonderful military collection housed in the drill hall.
This was my favourite exhibit as I have always had an interest in military equipment and history. The curator, Gerry Tyrrell, is great to talk to. He has a wealth of knowledge about the exhibits and if I had time, I would have loved to stop and chat with him a lot longer.
The drill hall houses a Leopard tank and this is one of the very few in the world that you can actually have a look inside.
If you need a break during your visit to the park, I would recommend a coffee and cake or a lunch break at the café. You will probably need a bit of a rest at some stage as there is just so much to see. I honestly cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are in the area make sure you are there either Sunday or Wednesday. If you aren't in the area, plan a trip and go!
