I go for a run in Mexico City on Sunday morning where Paseo de la Reforma is shut down to traffic and open for pedestrians to run, walk and bike with their family, friends, and pets. I´m with Laura, my business partner and Ella Te Explica on YouTube and her brother Diego. We start at The Huntress Diana Fountain (Fuente de la Diana Cazadora). Pass by the Museum of Modern Art (Museo de Arte Moderno) and take a break in front of National Museum of Anthropology (Museo Nacional de Antropología). Then pass by the Angel of Independence (El Ángel) on the way to Palacio de Bellas Artes. In total, the run was about 8 kilometers. Also, in Mexico City you can rent bikes for free along Paseo de la Reforma, you just need your passport and you can check out a bike for 3 hours.
COST OF LIVING IN MEXICO CITY (2019) | RENT | MEXICO CITY | MEXICO | EP. 20 | THE RUNNING FISH
Hola amigos! Long time no see! I have been traveling to different places in Michoacan. Now, I am in Puebla. A lot of footage is waiting for me to edit. Stay tune! In this video, I will talk about my cost of living in Mexico City. Big city is convenient but easy for me to spend more.
The rent and living space in Mexico City are similar to other big cities. There are so many choices of dinning out, from cheap eats to fine dining. At the end, every thing adds up.
Information online tends to tell us that the cost of living in Mexico is low. Yes, it is lower than at home. But mostly, people don't put clothing, hobby and travelling expenses in their cost when they show you. It seems like living the cheapest is the champion.
Honestly, people from developed countries have expectation on basic living standard. How much you spend depends on what your life standard is.

A DAY IN COYOACÁN | MEXICAN FOOD| MEXICO CITY | MEXICO | EP. 19 | THE RUNNING FISH
Hola amigos! Last weekend, my housemate brought me to a place called Coyoacán in Mexico City.
Around the central of Coyoacán, there are many markets. You can find different Mexican food, piñata, local fruits, arts and accessories over there. My favourite is the pork pozole, a kind local Mexican soup.
On the weekend, artists are putting up their artworks for sale in the street. Street performance can usually be found.
10 mins away from the central, there is Frida Kahlo Museum. Remember to book your ticket online, otherwise, the queue will be long, even on weekday.

FREE WALKING TOUR | MEXICO A PIE | MEXICO CITY | CDMX | MEXICO | EP. 17 | THE RUNNING FISH
Hola amigos! Last week, I just arrived at Mexico City. Without knowing much about the city, I signed up a free walking tour by Mexico a Pie.
The whole tour was over 3 hours. We went to places like Metropolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor, Postal Palace, the House of Tiles, etc. I later found out the whole area that we covered was an UNESCO site.
Our tour guide, Arturo, as well as an archeologist, is so knowledge. He told us many interesting stories about the city and recommended a few places to eat.

KOREATOWN IN MEXICO CITY | KOREAN FOOD | BARRIO COREANO | CHANNEL UPDATE | MEXICO | EP. 30
Hola amigos! I am back from Cuba! In this episode, let's visit the Koreatown in Mexico City! I didn't know that there is a big Korean Community in Mexico City until someone recommended a great Korean hairstylist to me. Then, I found out there are so many Korean restaurants with great Korean food and Korean supermarkets with good choices within the area.
To be honest with you, I had visited a few Korean restaurants in Mexico. They are all very high quality. I believe is because the cuisine is still taken care by Korean. After I made this discovery, there is no way I will go back to the weird Chinese food in here again.
Hair Stylist I recommend in Mexico City:
????♀️ Sssoni at Hair Charisma (Calle Napoles 60)
Korean Food that I like in Mexico:
???? Mexico City - Min Sok Chon (I love their simple soup kind food)
???? Oaxaca - Restaurante Mapo Galbi 2 (They made great Korean BBQ)
???? Cancun - Oh My GGogi (They have traditional Korean BBQ setting. But I only tried simple soup and dumpling.)

Paseo de la Reforma fun Car-free Sunday - Mexico City
On Sunday, Paseo de la Reforma turns into a car-free, pedestrian-friendly zone for roughly 6 fun-filled hours. Throngs of people riding bicycles, roller skating, jogging, etc. that centers on about a 2 mile stretch of this wide major avenue in Mexico City.
For those of us simply enjoying a stroll, there are plenty of adjacent park walkways, medians, and benches. This historic avenue which was designed in the 1860's (and inspired by European streets such as the Champs-Élysées in Paris and the Ringstraße in Vienna). Running diagonally through the heart of Mexico City, the creation of the avenue was done at the bequest of Emperor Maximilian I, who was ruler of Mexico at the time.
Getting here was a very easy stroll from our hotel located in the Zona Rosa. Since we had quite a bit of sightseeing planned for the day we had to bring our visit to a close near the Chapultepec Park area, but we certainly took our time just soaking in the this beautiful avenue, with so many beautiful buildings, along with wonderful landscaping. An experience that will always be remembered.....
For more info about this avenue, along with the Sunday street closure event, please follow this link:
As always, Ed does the camcorder video filming, along with any narrations you hear, while yours truly edits it all and uploads the final video.
Day of the Dead altars take over Mexico City's main square
Mexico City came alive on Friday to celebrate the dead with a Day of the Dead celebration, complete a with massive offering dedicated to iconic deceased Mexicans in the capital city's main square, the Zocalo.
The Day of the Dead is a pre-Hispanic tradition in which families remember their dead and celebrate the continuity of life. They set up offerings to the dead which include photographs, food, candles, flowers, personal items, skulls made out of sugar, skeletons of paper mache and sweets.
The annual event holds that the dead return once a year from the underworld. To mark their return, Mexicans construct altars. Burning incense and candles, participants adorn the altars with candy skulls, marigolds, chocolate coffins, paper mache skeletons and photographs of the deceased. Nov. 1 is reserved for children returning from the afterlife. Nov. 2 is for adults.
Mexico's Day of the Dead celebrations are considered a Cultural Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and with the success of Pixar's Coco film, the event has become a tourist postcard for the country.

Xochimilco - STREET FOOD TOUR and BOAT RIDE on Canals of Mexico City!
►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week:
►Go check out Lalo:
►Mexico City street food guide:
Xochimilco is one of the most interesting cultural areas to visit when you’re in Mexico City. It was formerly a series of pre-Hispanic villages along Lake Xochimilco. Eventually Mexico City expanded and grew all the way to Xochimilco, and now it’s one of the boroughs of the city.
What’s most remarkable about Xochimilco, and the reason most people go to visit is because of the extensive network of canals that form the framework of the area. Nowadays, you can rent the brightly colored boats and take a ride, eating and drinking along the way. I was there on a weekend evening, and it was a bit more rowdy and loud than I had wanted it to be, but it was still very fun. If you go during the daytime, you might have a more peaceful relaxing journey at Xochimilco.
Here’s what Lalo ( and I did on our short visit:
Mercado de Xochimilco - This is the main market of Xochimilco, and one of the best places to get started eating traditional Mexican food when you visit Xochimilco. At the entrance of the market you’ll find rows of vendors selling home-cooked foods. Don’t miss them, they are incredible delicious. Along with rare types of tlayudas, the highlight for me was the chicken tostada which blew me away.
Here’s the list of everything we ate, but really you can just walk around, see what looks good, and try it:
Tlacoyo - 12 MXN ($0.65) each
Tostada - 15 MXN ($0.81) each
Taco - 5 MXN ($0.27) each
Jamaica - 10 MXN ($0.54)
Carnitas - 20 MXN ($1.08) each
After eating, we walked over to the boat pier. And unfortunately we were running a little late on time and it was a race against time and daylight, but we made it to the pier. Lalo talked to the boat crews, and we finally arranged a boat. The cost was a little higher than what it would normally be for locals, but unfortunately, that’s what it came down to.
Boat hire - 850 MXN ($45.91)
Hope you enjoyed this tour of Xochimilco. The colorful boats are impressive to see, and it’s hard to believe you’re in Mexico City when you’re both at the relaxed Xochimilco Market, and gliding along the canals.
Thanks again to Lalo for coming along. Check out his channel here:

POLANCO (THE RICHEST NEIGHBORHOOD) IN MEXICO CITY | RESTAURANT EL PÉNDULO | MEXICO | EP. 35
Hi amigos! Sorry for being late. I am in Oaxaca joining the Guelaguetaz festival and having a little Mexican family time with lots of love. In this episode, let's go to Polanco, the riches neighbourhood in Mexico City. The reason is because last time when I was in Zona Rosa, I saw El Péndulo bookstore. I thought that was the one featured in Guardian UK magazine as one of the best bookshops in the world. Later, I found out that the one that they mentioned was in Polanco. I feel so guilty and want to correct my mistake. They are both very beautiful with similar deco. The size in the Polanco branch is bigger while the Zone Rosa branch has live music at night.
After that, I walked along Polanco which is surrounded by luxury brands. I am not too interested about those brands. But the neighbourhood was very interesting to look at. I found a photo spot! Museo Soumaya and Mueso Jumex are on the other side of this region. I also found a hugh and modern shopping mall next to them.

SAN ANDRÉS MIXQUIC | THE DAY OF DEAD (2019) | MEXICO CITY | MEXICO | EP. 47 | THE RUNNING FISH
In this episode, we will explore a place called San Andrés Mixquic during the day of dead. It is mostly called as Mixquic which is at the border of Mexico City. During the day of dead, it has a very busy and interesting festive market which you will never miss. By passing it, you will also see the cemetery.
Before going there, I thought it will be in a chaotic little town. But I turned out I have a lot fun. I also looked at altars in people's houses, as well as found a camping site!
Why you need to do camping? Because traffic is quiet jam there during the day of dead. It's not easy to get an uber when it's late. The hardest day is on Nov 2. I have tried to find airbnb and hotels before, but there is none. So if it might be an option if you can't leave the town.
Let me give you my schedule and uber fare on that day. On Nov 1, I left at 3:30pm and got there at 5:45pm with MX$432. I spent 4 hrs there and waited my uber for 10mins which was lucky. I left Mixquic at 9:50pm and got home at 11pm with MX$336.
I will say, leave it's better to leave the city in early afternoon and TRY to avoid the traffic jam. Spending only 4 hours is a little rush from my experience. However, I want to ensure that I can go home. Uber drive from the city may not familiar with Mixquic. I wrote Parroquia de San Andrés Mixquic as my dropping point and got drop off at the market.
If you can hire a car and a driver, you can fully enjoy your time there. Of course, it might be double or triple of the price that I paid for.
Food prices there are very reasonable, just like normal price. I don't see scam there. People are very nice and friendly. It's worth to visit if you are in Mexico City.
In this video, I use text instead of voice over in order to keep as much background sound as possible. Check out the time stamp if you would like to see a certain part:
Start - 0:56 Intro
0:56 - 2:36 Walk along the market
