Australia - December 2019 - Ex-HMAS Brisbane Wreck and Wolf Rock
We stopped in Brisbane, Australia on our return from Papua New Guinea to dive the Ex-HMAS Brisbane Wreck in Mooloolaba and Wolf Rock, in Rainbow Beach. Unfortunately, the elements were not in our favor, as we had poor visibility on the wreck and poor visibility at Wolf Rock, due to a torrential downpour on the day that we arrived. We were able to go diving two of the four scheduled dive days at Wolf Rock, but got blown out of the other two. Despite the less than optimum conditions, both dive sites were very good and potentially awesome, with better dive conditions. There is a ton of sea life at both locations and it will definitely be with another try next time we are in Eastern Australia. We spent our time on land searching for terrestrial life, for which Australia is famous.

THIS IS WHY AUSTRALIA IS AWESOME (wallabies + world class diving)
The Yongala Shipwreck near Ayr, Australia is one of the top dive sites in the world, and we experienced the most incredible underwater moment we’ve ever had. Then we took a ferry to Magnetic Island with a large wallaby and koala population (plus the deadliest snake in the workd) ;)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PADI SCUBA DIVING INSTRUCTOR
Ever been curious what Scuba Diving Instructors do? Join me and dive into my work for a day, and yes, it might be the best job on the world.
Since certification in April 2012 I have worked at Go Dive Brisbane until my move last November.
*Also, the shovelnose ray is most likely a guitar fish. They are extremely similar.
I cannot reccomend diving in Brisbane, Australia highly enough :

Go Dive is closing down
It's with a sad heart that I am announcing the closure of Go Dive Brisbane!
Brisbane Back Creek canyoning over scuba diving.
Scuba Shane Diving divers went out and did something different last week. Back creek gorge is an hour drive from the dive store from Brisbane city. The route has three waterfalls to abseil and two that you can jump; the adventure took just over 2 hours.
As you know its manta ray season with the last couple of dives bring a stack of leopard sharks, which has quietly trumped the manta rays this season. I’m excited for the new year diving and I have big plans for some shark diving later in the year.
Anyway, enjoy, and keep on pushing yourself.

Snorkeling Australia | Queensland (2019)
I went down to the Spit here in Gold Coast, Queensland just to have myself a little snorkel and see what was under the water. Since it's been raining non stop the past few weeks I figured this was my one chance at having some decent underwater visibility. I didn't bring my speargun, I just really wanted to hop in the water for a bit. Though the visibilty wasn't the greatest, Gold Coast has some of the best snorkeling you can find here in Queensland Australia. I honestly never knew how much I loved being under the water until I moved here to Australia and really got into snorkeling and spearfishing. If you live in Queensland or Gold Coast more specifically, feel free to shoot me a message I'd love to do some snorkeling or spearfishing with some Australian natives!

The Big Cat Reality - Brisbane (Snorkel Safari Brisbane)
The Griffith University Dive Club spent the weekend on board the Big Cat Reality. Snorkel Safari Brisbane staff were on board to ensure all divers remained safe and had a great weekend. There are only small snippets of the 8 dives we enjoyed over 2 days.
