University of Tasmania REVIEW [An Unbiased Review from A Life That Travels]
Tasmania. Land of pristine outdoors, friendly locals and, of course, the University of Tasmania!
As the only university on the Apple Isle, UTas has a big mission.
It has to compete with (MUCH) bigger universities on the mainland.
It has to provide a wide range of skills, degrees and training to help support the whole state.
And most importantly, It has to serve its local community.
So how does UTas do with this big mission?
As someone who's watched the university from afar, I'd say pretty well.
The university's stature has grown and grown over the past decade.
It is now undeniably an important part of the fabric of Tasmania.
I love visiting there.
BUT....
I'd like to introduce you to Ben Detar, a colleague from one of my companies, The Global Society.
Ben recently travelled to Tasmania for work and put his hand up to film this review video for you guys.
I think he's done a great job for his first vid! Thanks Ben!

No propaganda!
Welcome to A Life That Travels, a channel dedicated to providing independent, unbiased advice and stories from around the world.
Why does A Life That Travels exist?
Because SOCIETY shouldn't set the LIMITS on WHO YOU CAN BE.
But it tries to.
Making decisions about what to do with your life is hard and there's way too much pressure on people to work it all out and to find your passion... like you're some kind of failure if you don't.
So here's the truth.
You've got plenty of time and working it out is hard.
You can study (uni or technical/vocation ed).
You can go travelling.
You can get a job and dive straight into your career.
And you know what?
ALL of these are PERFECTLY acceptable options.
And that's where A Life That Travels comes in.
* Interviews with REAL PEOPLE who've done INTERESTING things with their lives, through study, work and travel, so that maybe you can find your own ideas in their stories
* Travel stories, destinations and advice... so if you want to see the world you'll see it's not so scary stepping out of your comfort zone.
* Unbiased reviews of universities and other study options so you can cut through the noise and make clearer decisions.

Hobart Diving
Quick dive in Hobart. Visibility has finally cleared in the derwent, which is great news for us.
TUDC dive of MV Lake Illawarra
On the 23rd of April 8 divers from the Tasmanian University Dive Club dived the wreck of the MV Lake Illawarra - a vessel that capsized and sank in the Derwent River Hobart on the night of Sunday 5 January 1975 when she veered off course while approaching the Tasman Bridge and collided with with the northern bridge support bringing the centre span down on the forepart.
With great conditions visibility was an excellent 4m.
25 years of diving with Eaglehawk Dive Centre - Tasmania, Australia
A short compilation of 25 years diving with Eaglehawk Dive Centre on the Tasman Peninsula, Tasmania, and a bit from Bathurst Harbour (remote southwestern Tasmania).
It has been a great experience over the years with the extremely diverse range of customers - basic open water to extreme technical diving. Television and photo-journalism from around the world have recorded, photographed and featured one of the most beautiful temperate waters/regions on the planet.
Thank you to all those who attended our 25th anniversary gathering.

Diving Black Rock, Port Arthur
A dive on Black Rock in the lee of Brown Mountain, Port Arthur with the Tasmanian SCUBA Diving Club. The dive saw us descend to the reef sand edge at a depth of 52m where we had 40 metres of visibility. The dramatic underwater terrain, and the most abundant fish life made this a fantastic dive.
Abalone Diving Tasmania | Clearest Water Ever!
Some clips from the last couple of weeks. The water has been incredibly clear lately, which is great to see.
In every dive, we only took enough seafood do get a feed.
