Why Would I Use A Cycle Lane?
So this piece began with a passenger learning out of their window to instruct me rather crudely to use the cycle lane. This particular one has a few craters in it and leads nicely to a pinch point. These features have caused it to appear on this channel previously a number of times.
So, having been told where to ride my bike, said passenger's vehicle gets slowed by traffic and this gives me the opportunity to get ahead again. Note that for the most part while I'm following the bus I'm free-wheeling or only pedalling lightly as the tow was enough to carry me along and besides, I didn't want to run in the back of it when it stopped (I knew there was a bus stop coming).
Finally, as I approach the next set of lights, the first vehicle following me catches up and passes but then I'm passing everything else back in the bus lane again. I give a friendly shout of on your left to the scooter rider to let them know I'm beside them and run beside the cycle lane all the way to the red light two sets further on. For good measure, another driver wants to push me back to the kerb but I'm just going to go ahead and hold my ground.

Places to see in ( Hoddesdon - UK )
Hoddesdon is a town in the Broxbourne borough of the English county of Hertfordshire, situated in the Lea Valley. It grew up as a coaching stop on the route between Cambridge and London. It is located 3 miles (5 km) West of Harlow 4 miles (6 km) southeast of Hertford, 5 miles (8 km) north of Waltham Cross and 11 miles (18 km) southwest of Bishop's Stortford.
At its height during the 18th century, more than 35 coaches a day passed through the town. It saw a boom in the mid 20th century as gravel was extracted from the area, but was exhausted by the 1970s. The lakes and water pits left behind have been used as leisure amenities. Today, Hoddesdon has a little light industry but is mainly a London commuter belt town. The town hosted the eighth Congrès International d'Architecture Moderne in 1951. It is twinned with the Belgian city of Dinant. The Prime Meridian passes just to the east of Hoddesdon. The town is served by Rye House railway station and nearby Broxbourne railway station.
The name Hoddesdon is believed to be derived from a Saxon or Danish personal name combined with the Old English suffix don, meaning a down or hill. The earliest historical reference to the name is in the Domesday Book within the hundred of Hertford.
Hoddesdon was situated about 20 miles (32 km) north of London on the main road to Cambridge and to the north.
Hoddesdon High Street has many shops, including fast food outlets, pubs, estate agents, charity shops, banks, travel agents and a library. At the north of the High Street behind the Clock Tower was the Tower Centre shopping centre, which was known for its high turnover of stores and distinct lack of tenants. In the early 2000s, it underwent a major refurbishment, in hope of attracting large national retailers, but its remaining tenants, including Argos and Superdrug, vacated the premises after Sky City Chinese restaurant closed down, and the Woolworths outlet went into liquidation. In 2012, the old shopping centre was demolished and replaced by a new Morrisons supermarket, which opened in late 2013. The remaining pavilion of the old Tower Centre is currently occupied by Electric Punch Tattoo shop, a fried chicken takeaway, Timpsons cobbler, Vintage Rock beauticians, a nail bar, Roberts and Co chartered accountants, Costa Coffee, a real estate agent's office, and a shop belonging to Broxbourne council.
Hoddesdon contains a small part of Ringway 4, part of the 1960s London Ringways scheme and the only part built north of London further east than Watford. Linking the town to the A10, the A1170 Dinant Link Road has an overly large junction between the link road and the A10, and was built with space available to continue the road westward over the A10 as originally planned.
( Hoddesdon - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Hoddesdon . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Hoddesdon - UK

18 August 2013, with
images of some of
Fleet Street's front
pages of the day mostly dominated by
a claim that Diana, the Princess
of Wales, had been murdered
by British State forces. That
claim had been suggested outside
the UK many times and rejected
by successive British Governments
and State agencies. This latest one
too is being rejected. But the
fact that the particular claim keeps
being revived means
that there remains a most powerful
political and Social interest
in the tragically killed Princess.
Leading with such a topic, this first edition
of the KHOODEELAAR! CAMPAIGN
SUNDAY PLATFORM contains
exclusively researched and filmed
arguments between the local
supporters of the local Tower Hamlets Council's
'trial' closure of traffic through
Brick Lane and opponents of the
bid. The issue may at first appear
marginal to those not living or working
in the East End of London Borough but
as far as the Community in the
Brick Lane London E1 Area is
concerned, the role of Tower
Hamlets Council is very relevant.
That role can make a good impact
on the Community. It can also
do lasting and irreparable harm
to the Community.
And to the lives and the livelihoods
of the people that constitute the
Community.
It thus follows that the standard
of that role is likely to be judged
through intense scrutiny by the ordinary
people whose lives and livelihoods are
affected by such decisions.
As viewers of the AADHIKAROnline
and KHOODEELAAR! Action Reports
will be familiar, these items of
the CAMPAIGNING REPORTING
Movement are originally researched,
investigated, designed, filmed
and published with one key aim
being the advocacy and protection of the rights
of the people and the contributions to
the process whereby
those who seek or hope to seek or actually
do occupy positions
as resulting from the votes of the people
in the local area are held to account.
On the evidence of the
behaviour of the decision-makers
in the local state' which
is Tower Hamlets or the regional state
which is the London Assembly and the
UK Central State which is at least theoretically
subjected to accountability to the local
people by the occupants of the two posts as
MPs for the Parliamentary Constituencies of
Bethnal Green and Bow and Poplar and
Limehouse/Limehouse and Poplar.
The KHOODEELAAR! Defence of the
Community covers all matters that matter
in the lives, the livelihoods and the universally
recognised and expected basic, human, legal,
economic, social, environmental, democratic,
creative and authoring rights of the people in
Tower Hamlets and in extrapolation of the
principles to those beyond and further afield
from the statutorily defined boundaries of

the 'original' East End of London.

The Diary of a Nobody Audiobook by George Grossmith | Audioboooks Youtube Free | Humorous Audiobooks
The Diary of a Nobody is the fictitious record of fifteen months in the life of Charles Pooter, his family, friends and small circle of acquaintances. It first appeared, serialised in Punch magazine and might be regarded as the first ‘blog’; being a record of the simplicities and humiliations in the life of this mundane, but upright, city clerk, who had an incontestable faith that a record of his daily life was worth preserving for posterity.
Set in about 1891 in Holloway, which was then a typical suburb of the impecuniously respectable kind, the authors contrive a record of the manners, customs and experiences of the late Victorian era. The bare record of facts, simply recorded, manages to be humorous rather than dull, no doubt because of the usual occupations of the authors.
George Grossmith (1847-1912) was an actor and comedian.
Weedon Grossmith (1852-1919) was an entertainer and illustrated the original work.

CHAPTER XXIII
Lupin leaves us. We dine at his new apartments, and hear some extraordinary information respecting the wealth of Mr. Murray Posh. Meet Miss Lilian Posh. Am sent for by Mr. Hardfur Huttle. Important.
JULY 1.--I find, on looking over my diary, nothing of any consequence has taken place during the last month. To-day we lose Lupin, who has taken furnished apartments at Bayswater, near his friends, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Posh, at two guineas a week. I think this is most extravagant of him, as it is half his salary. Lupin says one never loses by a good address, and, to use his own expression, Brickfield Terrace is a bit off. Whether he means it is far off I do not know. I have long since given up trying to understand his curious expressions. I said the neighbourhood had always been good enough for his parents. His reply was: It is no question of being good or bad. There is no money in it, and I am not going to rot away my life in the suburbs.
We are sorry to lose him, but perhaps he will get on better by himself, and there may be some truth in his remark that an old and a young horse can't pull together in the same cart.
Gowing called, and said that the house seemed quite peaceful, and like old times. He liked Master Lupin very well, but he occasionally suffered from what he could not help--youth.
JULY 2.--Cummings called, looked very pale, and said he had been very ill again, and of course not a single friend had been near him. Carrie said she had never heard of it, whereupon he threw down a copy of the Bicycle News on the table, with the following paragraph: We regret to hear that that favourite old roadster, Mr. Cummings ('Long' Cummings), has met with what might have been a serious accident in Rye Lane. A mischievous boy threw a stick between the spokes of one of the back wheels, and the machine overturned, bringing our brother tricyclist heavily to the ground. Fortunately he was more frightened than hurt, but we missed his merry face at the dinner at Chingford, where they turned up in good numbers. 'Long' Cummings' health was proposed by our popular Vice, Mr. Westropp, the prince of bicyclists, who in his happiest vein said it was a case of 'Cumming(s) thro' the Rye, but fortunately there was more wheel than woe,' a joke which created roars of laughter.
We all said we were very sorry, and pressed Cummings to stay to supper. Cummings said it was like old times being without Lupin, and he was much better away.
JULY 3, Sunday.--In the afternoon, as I was looking out of the parlour window, which was open, a grand trap, driven by a lady, with a gentleman seated by the side of her, stopped at our door. Not wishing to be seen, I withdrew my head very quickly, knocking the back of it violently against the sharp edge of the window-sash. I was nearly stunned. There was a loud double-knock at the front door; Carrie rushed out of the parlour, upstairs to her room, and I followed, as Carrie thought it was Mr. Perkupp. I thought it was Mr. Franching.--I whispered to Sarah over the banisters: Show them into the drawing-room. Sarah said, as the shutters were not opened, the room would smell musty. There was another loud rat-tat. I whispered: Then show them into the parlour, and say Mr. Pooter will be down directly. I changed my coat, but could not see to do my hair, as Carrie was occupying the glass.
Sarah came up, and said it was Mrs. Murray Posh and Mr. Lupin.
This was quite a relief. I went down with Carrie, and Lupin met me with the remark: I say, what did you run away from the window for? Did we frighten you?
I foolishly said: What window?
Lupin said: Oh, you know. Shut it. You looked as if you were playing at Punch and Judy.
On Carrie asking if she could offer them anything, Lupin said: Oh, I think Daisy will take on a cup of tea. I can do with a B. and S.
I said: I am afraid we have no soda.
Lupin said: Don't bother about that. You just trip out and hold the horse; I don't think Sarah understands it.
They stayed a very short time, and as they were leaving, Lupin said: I want you both to come and dine with me next Wednesday, and see my new place. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Posh, Miss Posh (Murray's sister) are coming. Eight o'clock sharp. No one else.
I said we did not pretend to be fashionable people, and would like the dinner earlier, as it made it so late before we got home.
Lupin said: Rats! You must get used to it. If it comes to that, Daisy and I can drive you home.
We promised to go; but I must say in my simple mind the familiar way in which Mrs. Posh and Lupin addressed each other is reprehensible. Anybody would think they had been children together. I certainly should object to a six months' acquaintance calling my wife Carrie, and driving out with her.

SUMMARY
=======
Greater London is a ceremonial county of England that is located within the London region. This region forms the administrative boundaries of London and is organised into 33 local government districts—the 32 London boroughs and the City of London, which is located within the region but is separate from the county. The Greater London Authority, based in Southwark, is responsible for strategic local government across the region and consists of the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The City of London Corporation is the principal local authority for the City of London, with a similar role to that of the 32 London borough councils.
Administratively, Greater London was first established as a sui generis council area under the Greater London Council between 1963 and 1986. The county of Greater London was created on 1 April 1965 through the London Government Act 1963. The area was re-established as a region in 1994. The Greater London Authority was formed in 2000.The region covers 1,572 km2 (607 sq mi) and had a population of 8,174,000 at the 2011 census. The Greater London Built-up Area is used in some national statistics and is a measure of the continuous urban area and includes areas outside the administrative region.
