Isle of Man DAY 3 - Port Erin to Peel (14 miles on the Raad ny Foillan coast path)
Isle of Man DAY 3 - Port Erin to Peel (14 miles with 1,200m ascent) WOW! BEST DAY EVER! Twisting, skinny paths along high cliff tops, loads of ascents and descents, beautiful purple heather covering the mountainsides and butterflies all over the path. Raad ny Foillan coast trail, you are spoiling me! Highlights include Bradda Head and the cottages at Niarbyl where they filmed Waking Ned (watch it asap it's hilarious).
Thanks so much to Nick and Immie Colburn from Manx Fell Runners for hosting me and feeding me the most excellent lasagne and letting me play with their gorgeous baby Cora!

Greg and Felicity Adventures :- The Isle of Man - Railways, Castles & Seals
On this travel adventure set on the Isle of Man, Greg made it his mission to prove to Felicity that it’s possible to have an adventure without the need to spend many hours on the plane to get there.
The Isle of Man is home to picturesque countryside, fascinating history and some gorgeous wildlife.
Greg got to share his love of history, exploring both Peel and Rushen Castle as well as riding not just on his beloved steam trains but also on the only electric mountain railway tram on the British Isles. While Greg obsessed over his historic railways, Felicity found something more to her taste at The Sound, where wild seals live on the rocks beneath and around The Calf of Man Island.
Only once did they feel the need to escape - from an escape room at Exit Strategy!
Overall the Isle of Man made for a fun filled adventure which we hope you enjoy.
Please watch, subscribe and feel free to leave a comment below. If you’ve any suggestions on our next travel adventure destination, do let us know!

Peel Castle
A Viking stronghold, Peel Castle stands on St Patrick's Isle, linked to the town of Peel by a causeway. The rugged coastline and the ruins of the castle outer walls make this an interesting stop.
Niarbyl Bay
Down a long winding lane, past the cafe and steep hill, you arrive at Niarbyl Bay.
Secluded and quaint, you suddenly feel like a fisherman from years gone by.
The Calf of Man
Calf of Man is a 2.50-square-kilometre island, off the southwest coast. It is separated from the Isle of Man by a narrow stretch of water called the Calf Sound.
There is a cafe and some rugged walking trails too keep you occupied, and on some days you can see the seals basking on the rocks
Cregneash
A small charming village with a tourist museum, seen on map above.
Home to a flock of the rare four-horned Loaghtan sheep, much of the village is made up of a living museum with the small white cottages forming the exhibits. Inside the victorian farming and fishing equipment is displayed and demonstrated.
Isle of Man Steam Railway
Starting in Douglas and steaming east to Port Erin via Castletown this narrow gauge railway is a must do attraction. The scenery is stunning and is a superb way to spend an hour or so chugging along the countryside.
CastleTown
CastleTown is the former Capital of Manx, and is home to Rushen Castle. The narrow streets and fishing cottages make this a delightful place to walk around.
It also holds the annual world tinbath championships
Ballaglass Glen
lovely glen to walk through, a nice wooded area with the river flowing through the middle of it with some fantastic waterfalls, and there’s a fairy house hidden along the river too. Plenty of quirks for kids too like the wizard statue along one of the paths.
Manx Electric Railway
Running from Douglas to Ramsey via Laxey this has to be the most picturesque heritage railway (tramway) I have ever been on.
Starting in Laxey and part of the Manx Electric Railway, the Snaefell Mountain Railway offers daily services to the summit.
Laxey Wheel and Mine
Built in 1854 to pump water from the attached mine, Lady Isabella as she is known is the largest surviving wheel of its kind in the world.
Ramsey
Harbour town on the MANX Electric railway route.
Port Erin Fish and Chips
With thanks to IOM Railway for use of image for rail route.

The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown dependency in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland. It’s known for its rugged coastline, medieval castles and rural landscape, rising to a mountainous center. In the capital, Douglas, the Manx Museum traces the island’s Celtic and Viking heritage. The Isle of Man TT is a major annual cross-country motorcycle race around the island.

Filming Me Filming You, It’s The Best I Can Do - Episode 13, 5th April - Sligo to Dublin
Today starts with an early bus ride and a whistlestop Sligo tour from a friendly local. Then it’s a day on the Sligo-Dublin line with plenty of distractions: Vicki explores Longford Cathedral, ride the commuter train to Leixlip, and hitch a lift by car to M3 Parkway. A long day with lots of trains - just how we like it!
All The Stations - Ireland sees Vicki & Geoff exploring the length and breadth of the Iarnród Éireann and Northern Ireland Railways networks - all 198 stations. Along the way, they'll meet the communities connected to the lines, interview local people and those who work on the railways, to find out about their experiences of travelling by train.
Download the All The Stations theme tune from iTunes here: (other stores are available...)

Journey to the Isle of Man | EP 03 Quarterbridge and Ramsey
The last installment of our trip to the Isle of Man during practice week 2017. We start by taking the steam train down to Port Erin to see some sights and grab lunch. Followed by practice, watching from the Quarterbridge pub. Since practice got cut short due to foggy conditions on the north side of the course, we went inside and grabbed some drinks. After watching some guys play pool for a bit, I invited myself into their game. We got to talking and ended up hanging out with them for the rest of the night down at the Bushy's TT festival in Douglas. Thursday was more wet conditions, so we just took the Electric Railway up to Ramsey to see some more of the course albeit without any practice going on. Friday was sunny and warm, however it was time for us to get the ferry back to Liverpool.
Despite only being able to see so much of the practice, the trip was still amazing. I would absolutely go back if given the opportunity.
Thanks for watching!

Day Trip around the Isle of Man
It's a beautiful day and instead of taking you to the garden, I'm going to give you a little tour of the Isle of Man.
Starting in the village of Laxey we'll visit King Orry's Grave, a 5000 year old stone tomb. It has two parts that are separated by a modern road and both sites are plonked down in the middle of a residential area.
From there we head north and visit the beaches of the Point of Ayre and Blue Point. You'll see lighthouses and stretches of beach with barely a soul in sight.
Driving south we wind our way around the Devil's Elbow, where local superstition has it that you can't speak or make noise while you're traveling around it. Above it sits an unexcavated neolithic tomb that I'm sure has something to do with the superstition.
Peel Castle was built by the Vikings and its beautiful ruins stand on Saint Patrick's Isle. I have a little mishap with my keys in the rocks there and afterwards we have a walk around the castle walls. The interior is mainly ruins and the castle is said to be haunted by the ghost of a black dog -- the Moddey Dhoo.
We finish up our drive around the Island with a climb to another ancient burial site -- the Meayll hill circle above Port Erin. It's composed of 12 individual stone tombs that were built in a circle about 5000 years ago.

The Forgotten Waterfall of Eary Cushlin - Isle of Man
Playing catch up with this upload as we actually shot this back before Halloween.
We hit Glen Helen for an explore which turned out to be pretty uninspiring and then drove south west to Dalby Mountain to check out Eary Cushlin. Things seemed didn't seem outside of the norm until i discovered a waterfall, when using the drone, that drops down into the sea from the cliffs. I never knew this existed! We will go back during the summer months to get up close with whats down there. As its too wet and dangerous at the moment we will have to wait it out.
Drone shots are near the end.
How do you cook your corned beef hash?
