Mahakali mandir pavagadh history [pavagadh]
Kalika Mata Temple, Pavagadh Kalika Mata Temple or Kalikamata, meaning the great black Mother is a Hindu goddess temple complex and pilgrim centre at the summit of Pavagadh Hill in Panchmahal district, India, within the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park. It dates from the 10th or 11th centuries.
Kalika Mata is the oldest temple in the area. According to R. K. Trivedi in Fairs and Festivals of Gujarat (1961), the goddess Kalika Mata was initially worshipped by the local [Lewa Patidar and king / sardar is Sadashiv Patel] , until she was later invoked and installed by Vishvamitra on Pavagadh Hill summit, where she is worshipped as a form of Durga or Chandi.The story is for Mata Temple celebration a Garbha organised by people,Mata feeling very happy and assumed the form of a woman and danced in a Garba, King watched her with dirty look. Mata tried to explain who she was but king not agree so The deity became angry at King and cursed him that the town will fall, and same time Khandesh(Jalgaon) king in Maharashtra gave promise that you all come at khandesh and stay there. Pavagadh's Kalika Mata is also worshipped by the Adivasi.The temple was described in Gangadas Pratap Vilasa Natakam, a 15th-century drama. Named in honor of the Goddess Kali, the temple is believed to be the Kali Mata's residence, and is one of the Shakti Peethas, as the symbolic toe of the goddess Sati is said to have fallen here.

In spite of her seemingly frightful form, Kali Maa is often considered the kindest and most loving of all the Hindu goddesses, as she is regarded by her devotees as the ‘Mother of the whole Universe.’

Navratri :
The festival of Navratri comes with a promise of nine days filled with fun, frolic, dance and festivities all around. It is one of the most vivacious festivals celebrated in the country.
Navratri not only symbolises the victory of good over evil (Goddess Durga's victory over Mahishasur) but also celebrates the spirit of Indian culture in its togetherness. Devotees, not only celebrate the festival by offering prayers to the Goddess but also wear traditional and colourful dresses, sing folk songs and indulge in other fun activities like- playing Garba and Dandiya.
Garba and Dandiya :
Garba or Dandiya, are dance forms which were earlier only performed in Gujarat, but have now become very popular across the country. Garba festivals are organised in almost every corner of the country today to grace the occasion of Navratri.
Dandiya is usually played in the late evening, after performing all the religious rituals (Aarti). While Garba is performed before worshipping Goddess Durga.
Garba and Dandiya are believed to be the dramatisation of the fight between the Goddess and Mahishasur– the mighty demon king. The sticks of the Dandiya dance represent the sword of Goddess Durga.
Significance of playing ‘Garba’ :
In the Hindu Dharma, playing garba implies singing bhajans (Devotional songs) showering praises on the Goddess amidst rhythmic clapping. Playing garba is awakening Shri Durgadevi from Her meditation through saguṇ worship, that is, the sound of clapping and praying to Her to assume the marak form for the mission of the universe.

In the country of religious differences, gods and goddesses are worshiped in the number of millions in India. There is also a form of Mahakali in these divine powers, which have evolved in the world to destroy the wicked. The 'Mahakali', which is enacted as an accessible woman in the time of time (time), is said to be the goddess of creation, protection and destruction. One of the nine forms of the Goddess is a shocking example of the empowerment of black women, with whom everyone fears.
Mahakali is said to be the incarnation of Durga and many assumptions related to their incarnation on earth are prevalent. When the mother Durga was fighting with a monster called Mahishasur, she became so angry that her mother was born in the flames. Mahakali, a very big black in dark black, killed all demons and consumed his blood. Mother Durga Jin-who had been killed by the dead, Mahakali hanged his head and hanged in his throat. All monsters were killed, but their anger still did not stop. Whether the demons, all of them started becoming part of their anger and see the destruction of the world, Lord Shiva himself, lay down under his feet, to calm him down. Mahakali was calm down on his feet. They had a great repentance that they put their feet on their husbands.
The second is related to mother Parvati. According to this, Kali originated from the body of Parvati's body. Therefore black color is black and white of Parvati. This black color of Kali Kali is also linked to destruction and creation.
According to the third belief, the construction of Kali was done by the Goddess Ambika for the purpose of destroying the Asuras. Along with the incarnation, Kali killed the lives of two monsters named Chand and Munda. After killing these two atrocities, Kali had to fight the army of the Assyr Emperor named Bloodbiz. Every other bloodbeed was produced from every drop of blood and so his army was growing continuously. To kill the bloodbath, Mahakali drank a single drop of blood in his body and ate all its replicas. After killing the bloodbath, he began to molest in black rage and to calm him, Lord Shiva had to lay down under his feet. Black became silent and because of shame she

Kalika Mata Temple, Pavagadh
At the summit of Pavagadh hill, 762 m above sea level, is the temple to Mother Kali, which is the oldest in the area, dating from the 10th-11th centuries. Hindu pilgrims were coming to visit this temple from long before the development of Champaner as a major city, and they continued for hundreds of years after its decline, right up to the present day. To reach the temple at the summit is about a 5 km walk along a jungle footpath to the top of the hill; otherwise, there is a cable car which will haul you to the summit from about the midway point, which is the last place accessible by road. The temple has large fortifications and an open chowk in front, with two altars for sacrifices, and an array of lights for special occasions. The idol of Kalika Mata in the inner sanctum is only the head, the mukhwato, painted in red. Also present are full idols of Mahakali and the yantras of Bahuchara. The temple is open from very early to quite late, to accommodate pilgrims arriving at all hours. The Machi Haveli is a rest house available for pilgrims.
