On day 2 of my travels on the west coast of Karnataka I travel from Mangalore all the way up to Gokarna. Apprehensive, I check into a hostel for the 1st time in my life, The Zostel Gokarna and check out the Hippie Market and Sunset at Kudle Beach.

Are you not getting any good goa package ?? Then come to Gokarna. Gokarna is a small temple town on the western coast of India in the Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district of the state of Karnataka. There are many other temples all over this small town. Ankola and Kumta on NH66 are the main towns near Gokarna and Bhatkal and Karwar are the main cities near Gokarna where almost all trains stop.This Place is Famous for Temples and Beautiful Beaches ..!!
**** Gokarna accommodation ****
Unlike goa hotel booking, Gokarna hotel booking is a big question, finding cheap hotels in Gokarna or just finding good places to stay in Gokarna is sometimes a challenge . Hence we recomend to stay near Om beach which has beautiful resorts.
##### BEST TIME TO VISIT GOKARNA #####
The best time to visit Gokarna would definitely be from the month of October to March when the humidity is at it’s very least.
##### ITENARY #####
Day 1- Visit the most famous Om beach of Gokarna, which makes the sign of Om with its shore and hence the name. Afterwards, visit the Kudle beach another attraction of Gokarna. Later visit the famous Mahabaleshwar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Day 2- Visit the Murudeshwar beach and worship at the temple at the beach which hosts a huge silver idol by the sea. Then visit the Maha Ganpati temple and Koti Tirtha a very sacred lake for Hindus. You can also visit Gokarna beach and full moon beach to watch the sunset.
##### HOW TO REACH GOKARNA #####
Gokarna is located in Karnataka just a few hours from Goa and Bangalore. Although it does not have an airport, it is well-connected by road to all major cities. Here is how to reach Gokarna.
BY AIR
Dabolim airport in Goa is the nearest airport about 140 km away. The airport is well connected by flights to Indian and international cities. From the airport, taxi services are available.
BY TRAIN
The nearest railway station is at Ankola, about 20 km from Gokarna. Trains from several cities including Mangalore, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Veraval halt at the station. From the station, taxi services are available for Gokarna.
BY ROAD
Gokarna is well connected by road. KSRTC buses do ply regularly from Bengaluru, Mangalore, Hubli, other cities of Karnataka. One can also board a bus from Madgaon and other cities of Goa for Gokarna. Gokarna is just 10 km off the NH 17 connecting Mumbai to Kochi. Buses, including AC luxury, ply regularly between both the cities.
GOKARNA, INDIA : JUNGLE HIKE From Half Moon Beach to Om Beach
We reached this beach after a trek from Om beach for about 20 minutes. Be careful not to lose the track since there are no sign boards. It's safe to go in groups. One can even opt for boats but they usually charge a lot. This beach is very remote and mostly there are only foreigners. Only swimmers are advised to get into the water coz of the high waves. We could not spend much time since we had to visit other beaches on the same day. But definitely one of the best beach for some leisure time. Not sure about the sunset though. It is best advisable to reach Om beach before dark because boats are the only means of transport (Trekking back may be tiresome).

Gokarna town of Kumta taluk, Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, India is very famous among travelers and devotees of Lord Shiva for its breathtaking, clean, leisurely beaches and Mahabaleshwar temple.
This short vlog is our humble effort to show you the glimpses of most accessible beaches of Gokarna ie: Om Beach, Kudle Beach and Gokarna Beach.
Om Beach: This beach gets its name because of its resemblance to Hindu auspicious symbol Om. This beach is very famous among foreign tourists and domestic travelers too. There are various shacks located on the shore of the beach and a lot of adventurous water sports activities are available to enjoy.
Kudle beach: One of the most leisurely beaches of Gokarna. It gets less number of visitors and the perfect beach to spend a relaxed holiday.
Gokarna Beach: the Most famous beach of Gokarna because of the easily accessible location of the beach. Situated right behind the Mahabaleshwar temple this beach attracts the most number of pilgrimage tourists.
