Busan Sea Life Aquarium & Street Food
This weekend we wanted to visit the Busan Sea Life Aquarium in Haeundae, Busan and go to Jagalchi to try their street food. Hailey and I took the express bus from Tongdosa to Busan which was about 25 minutes long. We met with Khou at the guesthouse and began exploring afterwards! Watch this video to see the beautiful Haeundae Beach, KOREAN-STYLE elote (Mexican corn) found at the Jagalchi street food market and even Indian food!

Judo Tournament in Busan, South Korea
I had the opportunity to watch an incredible judo tournament held in Busan, South Korea, where I currently live and teach English. The event was held in the Gudeok Sports Arena and attracted well over 300 competitors. The tournament did not include Busan's top tier players or professionals as they call them, but had some fantastic talent nonetheless. It was clear to me the moment I got to the arena that this would be a different experience for me altogether. As I came into the building there were no concession stands, no t-shirts for sale, no one collecting money -- I literally walked in off the street through the open doors and took a seat. Korea clearly goes about their judo with a no frills approach. This is judo land, and I could see why.
From the get go the action was fast and furious. I could see from my own experience in judo that there were some serious competitors involved this day.
One of the best things about the tournament was the energy and involvement of the spectators. All throughout the tournament, the rival teams were shouting what seemed like battle cries. Like a military cadence, one member would lead the verse, then the team would sound off. It really showed the essence of the fighting spirit of judo.
Midway through the tournament was a formal ceremony with special guests, judo dignitaries, and other ceremonious activities that gave the event a very formal appeal. It actually felt a lot like a graduation ceremony. Also, my own master instructor did a kata demonstration of a formal technique sequence in judo called, Nage No Kata. In Korea, judo is an institution and they don't take the sport lightly. In comparison, South Korea has won nearly as many gold medals in World Championship and Olympic Games events as the United States total medal count.
Nearly all matches ended in an ippon -- or full point ending the match. I watched nearly 6 hours of matches and counted only 4 that went to the judges. That's a testament to Korea's focus on technique and ending a match decisively. In fact, I saw no needless wrestling or wasted movements -- even with the novices. In some cases, it seemed like they were performing a demo as the execution of the techniques were so exact and clean.
This was a great day. An eye opening experience. Who knows, maybe one day I'll shake off the dust and see how I fare against some of Busan's Best.

Filipinos in South Korea remain calm
No Filipino in South Korea has asked to be brought home, despite the threats from the North. But if war breaks out, the Philippine embassy has identified Busan, Daegu, and Gimhei as convergence and evacuation points for Filipinos.
S. Korea and Philippines seek to boost cooperation in tourism industry

Seoul and Manila signed an agreement to boost cooperation and improve traveller safety.
Kim Mok-yeon sat down with the filipino Tourism Secretary for the specifics on the planned measures
South Korea and the Philippines have agreed to further boost cooperation in the tourism industry.
On the sidelines of the 2019 ASEAN-Korea Commemorative Summit, Korea's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Yang-woo and the Philippines' Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat signed an agreement on the implementation of a 2016 MOU on tourism cooperation.
The agreement includes plans to increase the exchanges of tourism experts, share statistics on related data, and hold joint-security exercises.
Speaking with Arirang TV, the Philippines' tourism secretary said that the agreement is essential to promoting sustainable cooperation.
We value our relationship with Korea so hopefully with the agreement we will have more programs together, joint promotions, (discuss) how we can promote sustainable tourism together and how we can further increase numbers between two countries.
Secretary Puyat also said that the Philippines is working to increase the number of direct flights from Seoul and expand its Korean translation services.
Despite the active tourist exchanges, there still seems to be lingering concerns about safety in the aftermath of several safety incidents in the country.
The minister said safety is one of their top priorities.
Alongside the tourists, there are also thousands of Korean residents living in the Philippines. But many Koreans still fear the possible dangers they might experience in Manila. What kind of plans do you have to put these concerns to rest?
Yesterday during the bilateral meeting between the two presidents, our president assured the Korean government that we will ensure the safety of our Korean tourists. As we've said Koreans are our friends and family, and we will make sure that any place they go to in the country is safe. In fact, in cooperation with the Philippine national police we have what we call top cops to ensure the safety of our tourists.
Stressing that South Korea is the Philippines' number one source of tourists, and that Filipino's have a deep love for Korean culture, the tourism minister vowed to continue bolstering opportunities for cooperation.

CHAKIL SQUAD CHA KIL AN TO BUSAN SOUTH KOREA 2017
'CHA KIL AN'
This dance creation has the objective of visualizing the character “Chakil” using several traditional dance motifs embellished with gymnastics, acrobatics, and Capoeira movements.
This dance is stimulating both mentally and visually. The theme of this dance is based in the character of the Chakil, as seen in traditional dance from Surakarta. This dance composition involves type study and drama, and its mode of presentation is symbolic-representational. This work consists of four scenes, namely the introduction, the first scene, the third scene, and the last. The dance movements in this work are based in traditional movements from Surakarta Javanese Dance, and has been developed through adaptions of technique in order to fulfill the objectives of the choreography. This composition involves the participation of seven dancers, four male and three female. This composition involves the accompaniment of Javanese gamelan, which is combined at times with diatonic music. For adornment, the dancers apply red and gold make-up, and wear a costume that harmonizes acrobatics-friendly attire with costuming native to Java. The costuming was inspired by the term “From Light.”
The aim of of this composition is to transform the character of the Chakil in a way that introduces a type/movement study, in which the movements of the Chakil depart from those of tradition (specifically of the traditional dance forms witnessed in Surakarta and Jogjakarta). It aims to develop traditional dance through the application of acrobatics, gymnastics, capoeira, and modern dance: a development that transforms the form of traditional movements in a way that brings forward all the variations of the modern Chakil.

Seoul, South Korea – Part 6
Seoul, officially the Seoul Special City, is the capital and largest metropolis of South Korea, forming the heart of the Seoul Capital Area, which includes the surrounding Incheon metropolis and Gyeonggi province, the world's second largest metropolitan area with over 25.6 million people. It is home to over half of South Koreans along with 632,000 international residents. With a population of over 10 million, the megacity is the largest city proper in the OECD.
Situated on the Han River, Seoul's history stretches back more than 2,000 years when it was founded in 18 BCE by Baekje, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. It continued as the capital of Korea under the Joseon Dynasty. The Seoul Capital Area contains five UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Changdeok Palace, Hwaseong Fortress, Jongmyo Shrine, Namhansanseong and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty. Seoul is surrounded by mountains, the tallest being Mt. Bukhan, the world's most visited national park per square foot. Modern landmarks include the iconic N Seoul Tower, the gold-clad 63 Building, the neofuturistic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Lotte World, the world's second largest indoor theme park, Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, the world's longest bridge fountain and the Sevit Floating Islands. The birthplace of K-pop and the Korean Wave, Seoul was voted the world's most wanted travel destination by Chinese, Japanese and Thai tourists for three consecutive years in 2009–2011 with over 12 million international visitors in 2013, making it the world's 10th most visited city and 6th largest earner in tourism.
Today, Seoul is considered a leading and rising global city, resulting from an economic boom called the Miracle on the Han River which transformed it from the ashes of the Korean War to the world's 4th largest metropolitan economy.
Seoul is the world's most wired city. Seoul Station is the main terminal of the KTX high-speed rail and the Seoul Subway is the world's largest subway network, considered the world's best subway by Jalopnik, providing 4G LTE, WiFi and DMB inside subway cars. Seoul is connected via AREX to Incheon International Airport, rated the world's best airport nine years in a row (2005–2013) by Airports Council International. Lotte World Tower, a 556m (1,824 ft) supertall skyscraper with 123 floors, is being built in Seoul to become the OECD's tallest in 2015 with the world's tallest observation deck and art gallery. Its Lotte Cinema houses the world's largest cinema screen. Emporis ranked Seoul's skyline having the world's fourth highest visual impact among major cities.

S. Korea prepares to open inter-Korean liaison office on Friday: unification ministry
통일부 남북연락사무소 14일 개소로 추진
The inter-Korean joint liaison office is expected to open on Friday.
An unnamed unification ministry official told reporters... that the ministry is working to make that happen later this week.
When asked whether it could be this Friday, he said 'yes.'
The official added that 50 to 100 officials each from Seoul and Pyeongyang are expected to attend the opening ceremony.
The two Koreas had agreed to open up the office within the joint factory park in Kaesong... and have worked together to renovate the relevant buildings in the complex.

Korea promotes fall travel during two weeks of events
가을 여행주간, 숨겨진 대한민국 곳곳으로 떠나자!
If you are looking to make the most out of the beautiful weather and picturesque surroundings in Korea... be sure to take advantage of the Autumn Travel Week.
Lee Minyoung shows us why this is the best season to travel here in the nation.
The crisp air and bright colors inspire travelers to embrace the outdoors,... and the autumn colors peak in late October and into early November, which means it's the perfect time for a seasonal travel promotion.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism kicked off this year's Autumn Travel Week on Monday and it will run through the 6th of November under the theme unveiling the hidden Korea.
Hongcheon Ginkgo Forest in Gangwon-do Province is one of those places,... and it's known here in Korea as one of the best spots to see the falling golden leaves.
Beautiful cosmos were in full bloom last week to greet visitors at the forest entrance.
Autumn is in the air here at the Hongcheon Ginkgo Forest, where the leaves are all starting to change. The forest only opens its gates once a year, so now is the perfect time to go and experience the beautiful fall scenery.
The forest is paved with a gold carpet of ginkgo leaves and offers an inviting backdrop for visitors, who were busy taking pictures with their loved ones.
It's great to be here with my boyfriend. The forest,... covered with golden ginkgo leaves,... looks like a scene from a fairytale.
Since opening this season, the forest has attracted a steady stream of visitors.
But it's not just the stunning scenery that makes this place special.
There's a heartwarming love story behind the seasonal splendor.
This forest is dedicated to the owner's wife, who had become ill and bedridden thirty years back. The man planted thousands of gingko trees on his land, as a wish for her recovery, and it has since become one of the most popular autumn attractions in Korea.
Over the years, both the man's wife and the trees grew stronger and the forest has become a symbol of everlasting love.
His devotion to his wife is very touching. Even though she was ill, I'm sure she was the happiest woman on Earth.
The Autumn Travel Week event offers visitors an abundance of other cultural attractions as well, so this would be an ideal time to get out there and enjoy the fall color.

South Korea 2018: DAEJEON 대전 Trip | Water Melon Sugar + Yellow Taxi Lounge ❤TimotHea J. Higgins VLOG
Hi Guys!!
This video covers our travel to DAEJEON 대전 just right after we're done with the Mud festival in Boryeong. It took us around 2hrs. to get there, so we just checked in to the place where we stayed at then we all took just a quick shower then head out right away for the night out.
We checked out the bar called Water Melon Sugar where there's this massive P*nis hanging in the middle of one of the tables.
Then we went to another area of Daejeon to continue the night and we went to this Beautiful Lounge called Yellow Taxi.
After that we just grab some burgers and drinks at Burger King to end the night. The next day we woke up early, grab a Brunch and quickly head to A theme Park called O' World the place is quite impressive it has a lot of stuff in it (Cafe, Restaurants, Rides, Flower Land, and Zoo the entrance is only ₩12,000 inclusive of Zoo and Flower Land if you want to use the rides it's a bit more expensive (₩29,000 not quite sure)
Also we got to go for a Bus Tour inside the place they called Africa Safari for another ₩6,000.
There, there are more animals like Bears, Tigers, Lions, Elephant, Giraffes, Zebras and few a more which i wasn't sure what they called.
We'll prepare another Vlog about it so please keep an eye for it.
It'll be Great and a must see stuff :) :)
