Přírodní jistota sněhu na Hochkaru existovala odjakživa. Na základě klimaticky daných zkušeností je vegetační pásmo Hochkaru ve výšce 1500 m.n.m. srovnatelné s vegetací v jiných částech Alp ve výšce 2000 m.
Hochkar vždy ručil za sníh, do té doby než se před 3 sezonami srážky nedostavily. Tudíž byla postavena výrobna umělého sněhu. Voda na zasněžení je odebírána z rybníka, který poskytuje kvalitní pitnou vodu a má kapacitu 90.000 mł. Retenční rybník se nachází v nadmořské výšce 1570 m.
Pomocí této výrobny umělého sněhu se zasněžuje plocha 40 ha (z celkové plochy 60 ha sjezdovek na Hochkaru).

Skiing on Hochkar!
Just 150 kilometres away from Vienna, Hochkar Mountain has eight modern ski lifts and two covered Magic Carpet, 19 kilometres of skiing slopes, the Funpark Hochkar and gorgeous countryside with spectacular panoramic views totally unique to the whole of Lower Austria!
The Hochkar is not only known for its legendary snow reliability, it has long been a true hotbed of Austria’s World Cup skiers too. Our ÖSV stars Thomas Sykora, Andreas Buder and Kathrin Zettel not only value the excellent training conditions and the Hochkar’s perfectly groomed slopes. For those in the mood for some après-ski, the diverse gastronomy scene on the Hochkar – from rustic ski huts to self-service restaurants and the après-ski temples JoSchi Bar and Latsch’n Alm – will leave nothing to be desired.
The very reliable snow conditions are naturally supported by a state-of-the-art snow-making system, so there’s really nothing to stop people from having pure skiing enjoyment from early December to late April!
Lifts on Hochkar
With a capacity of 16,000 passengers per hour, 9 technically advanced ski-lift and cable-car facilities will take you all the way from Hochkar Valley Station (1,380 m) up to an altitude of 1,800 m. For you this means minimum waiting time and maximum skiing pleasure!

Ski Slopes (19 kilometres)

Snowpark Dachstein West: Snowboard Session 2014!
The Snowpark Dachstein West is situated on the western side of the famous Dachstein mountain ranges and approached best from Salzburg. The project already exists since three years and was constantly improved in the last years. It offers a nice beginner section on the right side and a medium/advanced kicker- and rail section on the left side! In addition to this upper part the park also offers some jib elements and wallrides in the lower part, before you go down to the heated chairlift, which brings you up again.
The winter is on its way and it's time to show you the edit from our last season Snowboard Shooting with a lot of motivated riders like Alex Brucker, Chris Klaushofer, Jojo Blum, Kathi Gappmayr, Nadine Härtinger and many more!

It start with a nice kicker, corner and jib section in the upperpart and goes on in the wood section in the lower part, which again offers all sorts of rail-, wallride- and box features. Villach to Mölltaler Gletscher to Villach (Rollei CarDVR-110)
A dashcam video showing the route from Villach Austria, up to Mölltaler Gletscher (Moelltaler Glacier), and then back to Villach.
The route up follows the A10 to Spittal an der Drau, the 106 to Flattach, and then a small road up the mountain to the lower station of the Mölltaler Gletscherbahn.
The return route follows the small road back to Flattach, the 106 to Spittal an der Drau, and then the 100 (through various small towns and villages) back to Villach.
Camera is a Rollei CarDVR-110 set to 1080p.

Spittal an der Drau River After a Hot Day...
The city is found on the southern slopes of the Gurktal Alps (Nock Mountains), between the Lurnfeld Basin and therefore the Lower Drava depression. Despite its name the historic core of Spittal originated on the banks of the tiny Lieser tributary, that flows into the Drava at the foot of Mt. Goldeck, a peak of the Gailtal Alps south of the city. Its summit may be reached by compartment.
The municipal space consists of seven Katastralgemeinden: Amlach, Edling, Großegg, Molzbichl, Olsach, Spittal correct, and St. Peter-Edling. In Großegg (incorporated in 1973), the world of Spittal extends to the southern shore of Lake Millstatt.
