Unfortunately the camera didnt record the first part of the approach but is quite interesting as RWY 36 has low lying hills all around the ends making a standard circuit not pheasable. filmed in a 172 ZK-EJT with two pax.

With only 2 days staying there we could not do all we planned to, but we enjoyed the walk, stunning scenery and beautiful weather.
From there we would embark on a 4 week trip around the island.

After leaving Kaikoura we headed north to Takaka. The roads in this part of the island are some of the most picturesque in the entire country, so it turned out to be a long but beautiful drive with lots of incredible New Zealand scenery along the way.

My scenic Flight with 'Remote Adventures', Takaka based (Golden Bay, New Zealand) scenic flight operator.

A short flight around Golden Bay in a Cessna aircraft. We fly over Pohara Beach, Tata Beach and Ligar Bay, then inland over Takaka township and then over Pupu Springs, and lastly land back at Takaka Airfield.
Golden Bay is situated at the top of the South Island, in New Zealand.

Golden Bay Good Times; The Great Kiwi Bach
Let the summer good times roll with this waterfront cutie in Golden Bay. Fully furnished, private and sheltered, with a wood-burner for winter weekends and funky outdoor living for the lazy hazy summer holidays. Living is open-plan, with two bedrooms, one with built-in bunks.
There is ample room for parking and tents; with safe swimming, beachcombing and fishing at the end of the garden. The house has a modern bathroom, carport, covered decks and entranceways, even an outdoor clawfoot bath. Set well back from the road and the sea there is ample room to extend and untold years of seaside bliss to savour.
Pakawau has a local cafe and the close proximity to the wonderful West Coast is an added bonus, with Westhaven Inlet, known for its great fishing, just a short drive away. Collingwood, with its amenities and old world charm, is only a 10-15 minute drive and access to the Farewell Spit conservation area and birdlife, is a 10-15 minute drive in the other direction.
