This is Part 3 of my Iceland Trip!!! It is the first day of a 2-day road trip. We definitely had some hiccups in the beginning, but we made the most of our limited daylight hours! Considering we didn’t get on the road until after 4pm, we covered a good amount. And even if we didn’t, it was still amazing =)

Das ist der Golden Circle: Þingvellir, Großer Geysir und Gullfoss | Backpacking Island | VLOG #68

Das ist der Golden Circle, mit seinen Sehenswürdigkeiten Þingvellir, dem großen Geysir und Islands mächtigstem Wasserfall Gullfoss. In diesem Backpacking Vlog aus Island könnt ihr mit uns die schönen Seiten des Goldenen Kreises erleben. Diese Fahrt ist wirklich ein Traum und landschaftlich ein absolutes Highlight. Unsere erste Station war das Woll-Outlet Alafoss in Mosfellsbær. Im Nationalpark Þingvellir haben wir einige Stunden verbracht und sind in Islands Geschichte eingetaucht. Außerdem haben wir dort den tollen Wasserfall Öxarárfoss bewundert. Danach hat unser Weg uns zum großen Geysir geführt. Hier haben wir auch den Ausbruch sehen können. Unseren Tag haben wir mit einem Besuch bei dem atemberaubenden Gullfoss beendet.

Iceland - Jokulsarlon to Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon

Driving from Jokulsarlon to Fosshotel Glacier lagoon on Fri 8 March 2019.
You had blowing snow as well as snow drifts which had built up on the bridges. At times visibility was reduced to 1 or 2 poles ahead. It was -2C outside.

In the morning we had been at Skaftafell which is about 50Km further west than this and the weather was glorious sunshine (although windy), it seemed to deteriorate just has you got passed Hof heading East.

I have added some other videos of driving along the South Coast at this time of year to help people get a feel for the conditions.

This was driving in a Dacia Duster 4x4. At times it was challenging but it never felt dangerous as long as you drove safely. It was filmed hand-held by my wife and has been sped up to double speed

Driving from Budardalur to Sudureyri and returned to Selfoss in two days. Visited Litlibar, Isafjordur, Sudureyri, Holmavik and stayed in Selfoss

Iceland ring road

Description of our 8-day round trip around Iceland, June 2017.
Before this visit, I was searching for a detailed description for the ring road, and the sights along the route. Could not find exactly what I was looking for, so I made this video for others who plans this amazing adventure.
Will recomend early june for this trip. Less tourist, and plenty daylight.
We were blessed with fantastic weather the whole trip, but this not common. Bring clotes for all conditions.
Any car will do for this route, but higher groud clearence will be a benefit on some gravel roads. We rented a Peugot 307.

This video was made in Adobe after effects & premiere pro. My first attempt for this kind of video, so it is far from perfect, but I hope It may be helpful, and you can see past the glitches that annoys the shit out of me.
