Mini Switzerland of India, खज्जियार Khajjiar Himachal Pradesh Videos
Khajjiar is a popular hill station about 26 km from Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh. One of the 160 places in the world that look tropical in Switzerland, Khajjiar is located at an altitude of 6500 feet and is given with natural beauty and pleasant climate. Large expanse of green meadows and dense forests, overlooking majestic snow-covered Himalayan peaks, makes Khajjiar a popular destination among tourists. Adding the Khajjiar Lake and Chamera Lake to the charm of Khajjiar
Khajjiar is also called the Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh and serves as a starting point for trekking to Chamba, Dalhousie and Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary among others. Indeed, trekking is the best way to explore Khajjiar. Zorbing, which runs downhill in a plastic 'zorb', is a popular recreational activity in April and May. With its exotic flora and fauna, the Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary is a pleasure for nature lovers and wildlife photographers.
There is not much known about the history of Khajjiar, but 12th century temples are still in majestic splendor. The Khajji Naga Temple is the holiest shrine in Khajjiar. People of Khajjiar generally speak Himachali. However, almost all, they are also comfortable with Hindi.
Paragliding in Khajjiar-Dalhousie in Himachal Pradesh 'A dream comes true' '
It was a dream that I would fly in the sky, watch our earth how it looks from above and how birds enjoy the beauty of heaven.... I was very curious how the Earth looks out of the sky and even for me Paraglide. 1-2 years ago I knew paragliding and skydiving videos on YouTube, even I'm watching now.... as I love adventurous things and decided for this adventure anyway what happened to me. Everyone must make this paradise location in Himachal Pradesh rich, it is a true destination and places where Amritsar (Golden Temple, Wagah Border, and Textile Factory IV), Himachal Pradesh (Dalhousie, Khajjiar and Attractive Places), Dharamshal (Cricket Stadium IPL and T20 And another temple like bhagsunath temple Mcleodganj, Dalai Lama Temple).... When we went to Khajjiar and also called Mini Switzerland, it was just amazing big circle around the most beautiful tree.
Then some people asked Paragliding Karna Hai (you want to do paragliding) I got stuck and said yes yes and I asked for the price and we went to the airplane location but nobody came with me to frighten them to To do that. But it was my dream to complete and I go with them and drive 1km to the location and then carried the parachute and started walking on the mountain the distance was 400-600 meters but it was hard to climb as the Corner of the mountain was 45 ° and finally we completed the walk on the mountain and I took rest and she made a parachute ready for takeoff and I was scared and think of what happens if it fails but it was my dream And I cannot stop. After 15 minutes they called me, carry me Harness we were ready to F ** K OFF
After 10 seconds ascension, I realized that I was in the sky and started to enjoy the beauty and birdwaali feeling and even the stunt was great by captain ... Serious boys meant to fly and paragliding.
Now is the following: Skydiving :) and Bunjee Jump

Cooking chapattis in Sulphur water bubbling out yellow at Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara in Manali
Sulphurous water bubbles out from the womb of the earth. Many places in the Himalaya and hot water springs that carry sulphur in their water and are said to be salubrious to bathe in. People even place chapattis or rotis in the water, to cook them in the heat. Others cook rice in the heat of the water.
This is a Sikh gurudwara called Manikaran Sahib in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The water bubbles out almost in a volcanic fashion - like lava.
Anyone for piped geo-thermal energy in the Himalaya? Notice the swastik or swastika atop the Sikh temple or gurudwara.

Mini Switzerland.
On 07-07-1992, Mr. Willy t. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India brought Khajjiar on the world tourism map by christening it Mini Switzerland. He also put a sign board of a yellow Swiss hiking footpath showing Khajjiar's distance from the Swiss capital Berne-6194 km. Khajjiar is among the 160 locations in the world that bear topographical resemblance with Switzerland. The Counselor also took from Khajjiar a stone which will form part of a stone collage around the Swiss Parliament to remind the visitors of Khajjiar as Mini Switzerland of India. It is about 6,500 feet (2,000 m) above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas and snowy peaks can be seen in the distance. It is part of the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary.
Khajjiar is often reffered to as Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh.
.Khajjiar is a hill station in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, India, located approximately 24 km from Dalhousie. Khajjiar sits on a small plateau with a small stream-fed lake in the middle that has been covered over with weeds.
Khajjiar can be reached from Dalhousie and Chamba, the nearest major town and hill station, by bus/Taxi in an hour or so. It has a rare combination of three ecosystems: lake, pasture and forest, all in one place.
There is a Hotel and some cottages run by HP Tourism at Khajjiar where the tourists can stay . Besides there are two rest houses one each of P.W.D. and Forest Deptt. A couple of nice private hotels have also come up.
Travel
Most tourists travel to Khajjiar by private or rented vehicles. Bus service is also available to and from Khajjiar.
Places of Interest
The best entertainment in Khajjiar is to walk around the lake or to go for long walks in the thick pine forests. Children enjoy this place because of the freedom of movement and the slopy terrain which permits them to roll down to the lake without getting hurt. Another attraction like any other hill station is horse riding.Dhauladhar mountains:Dense deodars, pines and lush green meadows are characteristic of Khajjiar. Since Khajjiar is situated at the base of the Dhauladhar mountains, the tourists here can get panoramic views of the mountains
Khajjiar Lake: Khajjiar Lake is a small lake, surrounded by saucer-shaped lush green meadow and a floating island. The dense growth of weed called 'vacha' has made its earth spongy. Now the banks stand covered by a thick layer of earth, formed by the years of dust settling down on the weeds.
Khajjinag temple: A little away from the lake is the temple of Khajji Nag belonging to 12th C. AD. In the mandapa of the temple one can see the images of the Pandavas and the defeated Kaurvas hanging from the roof of the circumambulatory path. The sanctum of the temple has been beautifully carved from wood. This temple is dedicated to snake(Nāga) worship and there are some snake idols inside.
Jwala Devi Yatra | Kangra Devi | Chamunda Devi | Dharamshala Sightseeing Day 6 | ज्वालादेवी दर्शन
Today is Day 6 and we have planned for Dharamshala sightseeing today, but before that, we come to know about Char (4) Devi Darshan is very popular among tourist. ( Jwala Devi, Chamunda Devi, Kangra Devi & Naina Devi) Naina Devi is a bit far from Dharamshala if we go there then we have to skip Dharamshala, so we decided to visit only 3 Devis.
We started at 9 in the morning first we planned to visit Chamunda Devi, but on the way, there is Chinmaya Tapovan Ashram, you can visit there too. here you can find one huge statue of Hanuman, after a quick visit we started our onward journey, within half an hour we reached to Chamunda Devi, Commonly known as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham, it is a famous temple of Goddess Shakti who is the goddess of power. The temple complex holds a Kund in it where devotees take a holy dip in it because it has sacred importance. But during our visit, there is some renovation work is going on so we were unable to do so.
after that, we started for JwalaDevi, in an hour we reached Jwalamukhi, this temple Dedicated to Goddesses Jwalamukhi. the temple is believed to have nine permanent flames named after the goddesses- Mahakali, Unpurna, Chandi, Hinglaj, Bindhya Basni, Maha Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ambika, and Anji Devi. The temple is considered very powerful, hence count as one of the 51 Shakti-Pitha temples in India it believes that Tounge of Sati fallen here.
then we move further for Kangra Devi aka The Bajreshwari Devi Temple is a popular Hindu pilgrimage site in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh behind the crowded market of Kangra Town. It is said to be constructed by Goddess Bajreshwari itself at a place where once the famous Ashwamedh or horse-sacrifice took place. It is said that the temple was not known as Bajreshwari Devi Temple when for the first time it was built. According to the history of this region, the temple was attacked by Mohammad Ghazni, the notorious invader and ruined in 1009. Later, the temple was reconstructed. It is in 1905, the temple got destroyed by a devastating earthquake. The temple is reopened to the public in 1920.
now its 3:30pm we finished our Lunch in Kangra and proceed for Dharamshala.
Our 1st spot in Dharamshala is HPCA Cricket Stadium, HPCA Stadium is a picturesque cricket stadium located in the city of Dharamshala, The picturesque venue is unique in India as it is situated at an altitude of 1,457 m above the sea level and has the snow-capped Himalayan mountains in the background. The stadium served for Ranji Trophy matches and other domestic matches. The stadium also hosted some IPL matches etc.
While our visit there was some local match was going on so we enjoyed it and move ahead for next spot.
Just opposite to Stadium you can visit the War Memorial Museum, The Picturesque location of the war memorial itself is very beautiful with Pine trees in a row, all round as if saluting the War heroes of India-Pakistan war 1971 and of Kargil War. I loved the layout with the Huge India Map on the slope with colors, and other steps, paths, and gardens. The Photos of war heroes are displayed with the dates and other details. it was nice to be in the park as an homage to the Martyrs.
The park is open from 8 am to 8 pm. the entrance fee is Rs.10/- per person and Rs.5/- for children. parking fee for a car is Rs.20/- and bus Rs.40/-
Our Next and Last Point is Dal Lake, Quaint and clam, Dal lake is filled with greenish water. On the bank of the Dal lake, tourists can see the famous Shiva temple. The area around Dal Lake is a natural paradise. Dal Lake falls on the road to Naddi, one of the finest places in Dharamshala.
Naddi
At 2,000 meters above the sea level and about one kilometer from Dal Lake, a modern picnic spot is developing fast at Naddi. It is the only place in Dharamshala from where an open view of mountains and wide valleys on Dhauladhars southern side can be seen. It is also a starting point for a trek to Kareri lake, Guna Temple and Triund.
today is our last in Mcleodgunj actually we need more days here, we have skipped many places you can easily spend 5-6 days here, by covering Camping at Triund, Paragliding at bir-biling and much more. we definitely going to visit here again.
and tomorrow we are leaving for Amritsar and visiting Wagah Border, Shri Harmandir Sahin (Golden Temple) Jalianwala Baug etc.
so stay with for more exciting Journeys.
Thanks for watching.

DISCLAIMER: This video is made by me as I like videography, and the audio content is taken from the film Rang De Basanti, which is not owned by me. The audio content is used only for entertainment purpose and is not for any profit.
Manikaran is about 30 KM from Buntar which has connectivity through road/air. the place has Sikh Gurdwara and temples. It has hot springs which is active even in winter with snow peaked mountains. The sulphur (gandhakam) is good for skin diseases and hence taking bath in this spring is believed to be having curing value. As traditionally being simple, Sikhs do the chores at their Gurudwara, and even rich, famous and poor are doing them along. There is a community kitchen (langaar) which uses the hot spring to boil the vegetables for preparation of food. It is run by a trust and has accomodation facility also. I have taken this in 2009 May. The Sikh prayer , I believe, EkOnkar from Rangde Basanti.

Bagalamukhi or Bagala (Devnagari: बंगलामुखी) is one of the ten mahavidyas (great wisdom goddesses) in Hinduism. Bagalamukhi Devi smashes the devotee's misconceptions and delusions (or the devotee's enemies) with her cudgel. The word Bagala is derived from the word Valga (meaning – bridle or the rein that we put in the mouth to control the movements of tongue and direction) which, became Vaglaand then Bagla.[1] The goddess has 108 different names (some others also call her by 1108[2] names). Bagalamukhi is commonly known as Pitambari Maa in North India, the goddess associated with yellow color or golden colour.Bagalamukhi is one of the ten forms of the wisdom goddesses, symbolising the potent female primeval force.
At Bagalamukhi's right is worshipped Her consort, Ekavaktra Bhairava, who is white in complexion and holds a trident.
Bagalamukhi is derived from Bagala (distortion of the original Sanskrit root valgā) and mukha, meaning bridle and face, respectively. Thus, the name means one whose face has the power to capture or control. She thus represents the hypnotic power of the Goddess.[3] Another interpretation translates her name as Kalyani. In Kubjika Tantra there is a reference to yet another interpretation of the meaning of the name ‘Bagala’. In the initial chapter of the text there is a verse – ‘Bakare Baruni Devi Gakare Siddhida Smrita. Lakare Prithivi Chaiba Chaitanya Prakrirtita’ (‘Ba’, the first letter of the name – ‘Bagala’, means ‘Baruni’ or ‘She Who is filled with the intoxicating mood to vanguish the demon’. ‘Ga’, the second letter, means ‘She Who grants all kinds of divine powers or siddhis and successes to human beings’. ‘La’, the third letter, means ‘She Who is the foundation of all kinds of sustaining powers in the world like the earth and is Consciousness Herself’.[4]
Bagalamukhi has a golden complexion and her dress is yellow. She sits in a golden throne in the midst of an ocean of nectar full of yellow lotuses. A crescent moon adorns her head. Two descriptions of the goddess are found in various texts: the Dwi-Bhuja (two-handed), and the Chaturbhuja (four-handed). The Dwi-Bhuja depiction is the more common, and is described as the Soumya or milder form. She holds a club in her right hand with which she beats a demon, while pulling his tongue out with her left hand. This image is sometimes interpreted as an exhibition of stambhana, the power to stun or paralyse an enemy into silence. This is one of the boons for which Bagalamukhi's devotees worship her. Other Mahavidya goddesses are also said to represent similar powers useful for defeating enemies, to be invoked by their worshippers through various rituals.
Bagalamukhi is also called Pitambaradevi or Brahmastra Roopini and she turns each thing into its opposite. She turns speech into silence, knowledge into ignorance, power into impotence, defeat into victory. She represents the knowledge whereby each thing must in time become its opposite. As the still point between dualities she allows us to master them. To see the failure hidden in success, the death hidden in life, or the joy hidden in sorrow are ways of contacting her reality. Bagalamukhi is the secret presence of the opposite wherein each thing is dissolved back into the Unborn and the Uncreated.
In ‘Bagalamukhistotratram’, a part of ‘Rudrayamala’ (a famous Tantra work), there are hymns in praise of the powers of Goddess Bagalamukhi – “Vadi Mukati Rankati Kshitipatirvaishwanarah Sheetati Krodhi Samyati Durjanah Sujanati Khsipranugah Khanjati. Garvi Khanjati Sarvaviccha Jarati Tvanmantrinaamantritah Srinitye Baglamukhi Pratidinam Tubhyam Namah “(By the effect of Your Mantra good conversationalists become speechless; rich become beggars; devastating fire gets cooled. The anger of the angry person is removed; an evil minded person becomes good. The quick moving person becomes crippled. The conceit of the conceited person is reduced. Knowledgeable person nearly becomes a fool. Salutations to the compassionate Bagalamukhi!)[5][6]
