Gold Creek Falls, Golden Ears Provincial Park, Maple Ridge,BC
The Gold Creek Falls is a short hike that is perfect for the beginning of the season or in combination with a camping trip to the Golden Ears Provincial Park.
From the parking lot, head down towards the trail and start following the wide trail up a gradual hill. Layers of moss blanket the forest floor as you make your way through a typical west coast rainforest.
After hiking for about 15 minutes, you will get a glimpse of Gold Creek on your left. Continue along the trail until you reach a clearing that offers views of Alouette, Edge, and Blanchard Mountains.
As you begin to make your way uphill, you will start to hear Gold Creek Falls as you get closer. The view of the falls above can be fantastic, particularly in the spring season when the runoff from the surrounding mountains is surging downstream. After taking in the view and mist from the falls, continue up the trail to the next viewpoint at the top of the falls.
After enjoying the upper viewpoint, make your way back down, past the falls, and head back towards the parking lot and campsite.

Amazing Hike In Golden Ears Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada.
Menzies trail is a perfect intermediate trail for those who enjoy views of tall mossy trees and small running streams. The hike itself is fairly easy in terms of elevation gain and the total distance one way is 9km or 18km there and back. If you take two cars you can park at the beginning of the trail and at the end if you don't want to do the full 18km. If you go on weekend I would suggest getting there early as parking can get busy in the afternoon.

The Two main spots for day use picnicking areas are the South Beach and the North Beach. South Beach has lots of sitting, playing and grassy areas. There are plenty of BBQ tablets and some of the tables have BBQ attachments. The North Beach, on the other hand, is more scenic and quieter than the South Beach and it is about a 5 to 10 minutes’ walk from the parking lot. Although there is no picnic tables on this side- the view and calmness is worth it!
It’s a dog-friendly zone and but must be kept on leash.

Hiked The Golden Ears Trail which is in Golden Ears Provincial Park. It can be completed in a day but many people also enjoy the hike while camping. The elevation gain is just over 1500 m. and the round trip is just over 24 km. The trail is long and becomes increasingly steep as it progresses with much of the elevation gain occurring past the midway point. Make sure to leave early enough to have ample time during daylight hours if you plan to complete this hike in a day.
