We Tried Egypt Street Food | Must Eat Local Dishes in Cairo
Trying Egyptian Food in Cairo - it's our second day here in Cairo, Egypt and we thought we would head on out to try some of the local Egyptian and Middle Eastern Food.
To get our pallet ready we tried Ma'An Sulta (Salad water), before getting some prickly fruit from a street food cart. We then headed to Felfela, a famous restaurant here in Cairo to have some Turkish coffee, Shorbet 'ads (lentil soup), baba ganoush (eggplant dip), ful, besara and Betinjan Maqli.
On the way to our next restaurant we tried arabic coffee for the first time, hibiscus juice as well as some white Egyptian Sobia drink before trying some home cooked Bamya.
Before we tried the most famus Egyptian dish, we had some Baskote Yansoon as we made our way towards the end of downtown to try Koshari...I am not sure how we had space for desert but managed to squeeze in Konafa, Basbousa and more...we are officially full!

How Mohamed Salah Saved Soccer in Egypt
Can Mohamed Salah lead Egypt to World Cup glory? Egypt vs Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay will stop a nation. Even Zamalek & Al Ahly fans will root for the same thing. And all eyes will be on Liverpool's Mo Salah (and his injured shoulder). Here's how Salah went from Nagrig, Egypt to El Mokawloon (Arab Contractors) in Cairo to conquering Europe with Chelsea, Roma & Liverpool. Now, at World Cup 2018, Egypt's first in 28 years, he'll help heal a historic football culture still in recovery from the effect of the Egyptian Revolution in 2011 and the Port Said riots in 2012.
Egypt - Aswan - Luxor - Cairo - Alexandria - nonstoptravellers
Egypt is the land of mysteries, of the great dynasties of Pharaohs and the Nile river! A sunny country, of the endless golden Saqqara desert, of the black gifts of the Nile, of Bedouins and their camels, of the thousands bazaars and the world’s greatest Egyptian civilization… Egypt, the gift of the Nile, the second largest river in the world, crosses the whole country from Upper to Lower Egypt, finding his way into the Mediterranean Sea. It is the reason for the amazing flourishing of an ancient civilization that counts over 5,000 years of history. A country with two official religions, Islamic and Christian (15% of the population, 15 million out of 100.000.000), Egypt has forever been tied to its Pharaonic past and its archaelogical riches and theres a lot to disscover…

旅する鈴木549:Walk around in Luxor city@Egypt
DAY 549 : A WALK IN LUXOR
Probably because we grew up in suburban, we feel more comfortable here in Luxor than the big capital city, Cairo. Any urban cities on earth are very busy and overloaded with people and things. Luxor is a small suburban town with temples around, and with the size is just as good as we can make a grand tour by walking. There are many ancient Egyptian monuments including Valley of the Kings across the Nile and expensive hotels along the riverside. We were solicited for a horse car ride like 100 times with a greeting in Chinese as we walked, just like any touristic places in the world, but rarely saw other foreigners. Someone told me that there are much less tourists because of the political situation these five years. Fortunately it shows a slight recovery after the new president assigned, but still listening to them talking about how the situation can easily change by one man, I couldn't help it wonder.

World Cup Trophy Visits Egypt
The FIFA World Cup trophy made an appearance at the pyramids of Giza on the outskirts of the Egyptian capital Cairo on Saturday (November 16).
The trophy came to Cairo as part of its 267-day world tour that began on September 13, 2013 in Rio De Janeiro, where the World Cup will be held next summer.
Sponsors Coca-Cola are aiming to give over 1 million people the opportunity to see the trophy up close.
''We've decided that in line with our campaign to try and make this the most inclusive and participatory FIFA World Cup ever, we wanted to make this the longest journey the trophy's ever been on. So we've worked out we're going to 90 countries around the world and Egypt is obviously one of the key countries of those 90 that we're bringing it to,'' said Coca Cola Global Football Manager, Brad Ross, adding that the event in Cairo was free of charge.
Organisers say some 10,000 people attended Saturday's event.
This is the second time the prestigious silverware has visited Egypt, the first time being in 2010.
The trophy arrived in Egypt on Thursday (November 14) and flies to Tunisia on Sunday (November 17).
It is scheduled to arrive back in Brazil on 21 April 2014; just under 2 months prior to the tournament start.
Actress Hala Shiha said the event signalled that Egypt was safe for visitors.
''It's an amazing event, I'm really happy. I think it sends out a big message that Cairo is safe. Since the World Cup tour is here, so I think it's really safe,'' she said.
''Of course I wanted to take a picture with the World Cup and hold it in my hands. But it is enough that I took a photo,'' said football fan Mohamed.
The Egyptian national team's hopes of reaching the World Cup finals diminished when the Pharaohs suffered a 6-1 loss to Ghana's Black Stars in the Ghanaian city of Kumasi on October 15.
The second leg of the qualifier is due to be played at Cairo's Air Defence Stadium on November 19.
It will be the first time since early 2012 that the Pharaohs play in front of home fans following the deaths of 74 people at a league game between Al Ahly and Al Masry in Port Said on February 1 2012, which also led to the suspension of the domestic league.
The Ghanaian Football Association wrote to football's world governing body FIFA in October requesting the second leg playoff be held outside Egypt due to security concerns.
Despite being the most successful team in the Africa Cup of Nations competition with seven wins, Egypt have only qualified for the World Cup finals twice, making their last appearance in 1990.
Egyptians had an opportunity to celebrate international success on November 10 when Cairo's Al-Ahly club won a record eighth African Champions League title.
