What I Drank Yesterday Decoy, Goldeneye and Paraduxx
This is Duckhorn wine Company and this winery has been buying up vineyards all over California and just invested in land in Washington state on Red Mountain.
Decoy started out as a second label for Duckhorn but today it is a stand alone brand and the wines keep getting better and better.
Goldeneye and Paraduxx are also standalone brands and they have their own separate winemaking facilities. We love Pinot Noir so the Goldeneye is a regular fixture here on the shelf here at Wine
Watch and if you like zinfandel the Parraduxx is one of the best blends containing this varietal made in California even better than the Prisoner just not as clever with the packaging.

Anderson Valley winemaking
Just over the past year, top vintners have begun turning their attention to what could be the next prime pinot region — Mendocino County’s Anderson Valley. Read story at

Handley 2006 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Milla Handley's latest 2006 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is an incredible achievement and skillfully reflects the vintage and region from which it was grown. Quite possibly the Handley Cellars wine that has received the most attention from the press and top industry periodicals, the 2006 Pinot Noir garnered such impressive reviews and accolades that it has since sold out at the winery and is now only available in limited quantities through Gold Medal Wine Club and various restaurants throughout California. The 2006 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir was awarded a Gold Medal and Best of Class at the California State Fair in addition to 7 Gold Medals at state wine competitions and 4 ½ out of 5 Stars from Restaurant Wines magazine. This Pinot is Highly Recommended by the California Grapevine and the recipient of Three 88 Point Scores from Connoisseurs' Guide, Wine & Spirits, and The Pinot Report. Wine & Spirits also named the 2006 Pinot Noir a Best Buy. With aromas of raspberry and black cherry with hints of clove, cinnamon, and rhubarb, this medium to full bodied wine is deliciously supple, with ripe cherry flavors, a soft texture, and a nice lingering finish. Aged 9 months in oak. 100% Pinot Noir. Enjoy now until 2012.

Duckhorn Wines 1990 - From my dear friend Jim Forbes, Enjoy !
Duckhorn Vineyards Wines / Video 1 of 3 from my dear friend Jim Forbes.
Around the minute 3:59 and minute 5:55 you will be able to see my other dear winemaker friend, who is also a Napa Valley legend, Tom Rinaldi.
Tom was the first winemaker to craft a single-vineyard
expression from Hewitt Vineyard Estate. He has made wine at some of the valley’s most important wineries, Freemark Abbey, Rutherford Hill and Round Hill before joining Dan and Margaret Duckhorn to help found Duckhorn Vineyards in 1978. There, for two decades, he established himself as one of Napa Valley’s premier fashioners of elegantly classic Cabernet Sauvignons and Merlots, yes, Merlots !
Thank you so much Jim !!!

A look at what was fruiting today. Farmer's Market is tomorrow (23 May) but this weekend it will be at the Madrones in Philo rather than in the parking lot of the Boonville Hotel.
