A fun trip on the Goldfields Railway in Waihi New Zealand. A beautiful part of the north island steeped in mining history. Was fun riding in the back of an open wagon, waving at the passing cars and seeing a unique perspective of this old gold mining line. This was during the end of our New Zealand trip and was a relaxing way to spend the morning.

This is the first of a three-part video, making up my footage of the ride along the entire length of the Goldsfields Railway. The locomotive was a Baguley-Drewry 0-4-0 diesel shunter, one of two based at Waihi.
This journey was made on Saturday the 21st of July, 2018.
