Goldpan Campground, BC Parks, Thompson River, south of Spences Bridge
Perched on the long narrow side of the Thompson River, this campground is surrounded by tracks south and tracks northbound on both sides of the river, along with the Trans Canada Hwy beside you. The trains ran almost every half hour all night. Canadas main shipping corridor.

Skihist Provincial Park 2016
This time we take a break form backpacking and canoeing to enjoy a weekend of front country camping. I took Michaela for a fun weekend of camping and photography in the scenic Thompson Canyon.
Established in 1956 Skihist is a convenient overnight camping spot for travelers on Highway #1. The Thompson Canyon is known for river rafting, fishing. Skihist provides awe-inspiring views of the Thompson Canyon. You can take a stroll on the old Cariboo Wagon Road or make arrangements for guided river rafting trip on the Thompson River.
From Spences Bridge down the Canyon, Part 3
*The first 30 secs of this video has some shake due to wind buffeting from following the RV and trailer*
About halfway between the Goldpan Prov Park Campground and Skihist Prov Park is where this video is taken. A portion of it shows the area where theres a sharp bend in the Thompson River by the railroad overpass called Frog Rapids. On this day there is a CN train heading north as I was passing the section where the track is right alongside the highway.

BC Road Film 3: Goldpan
One of the best things about driving through mountains and canyons is that sometimes you can't see what's ahead of you until you're already there, which makes for some nice reveals along the way. On the other hand, the picture can disappear just as quickly, so you have to enjoy it while it lasts . . . even if its only for a few seconds.

From Spences Bridge down the Canyon, Part 2
A few minutes out of Spences Bridge traveling down the canyon, I pass the domed red roof building on the corner next to the gas station at 0.25 mins. I've never seen a name on it other than something advertising 'cowboy hats' so if anyone has an official name please let me know.
Going over the bridge just south of the station you get a great view of the Thompson River and a CP train on the west bank of the river heading south passing through the tunnels.
The video ends just south of the Goldpan campground by the Drynoch siding.
