Playa de las Américas is a purpose-built holiday resort in the southern and southern-west part of the Municipality of Arona, close to the adjoining Municipality of Adeje in the west of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands.
Playa de las Americas was built in the 1960s beside the town of Los Cristianos and stretching west to the Costa Adeje. The resort area features bars, nightclubs, restaurants, attractions, and beaches, most of which are man-made with imported sand from Africa due to the darkness of the native volcanic sand. Playa de las Americas is a centre of nightlife in Tenerife. Nightlife is spread around the resort and includes the Veronicas Strip, Starco Commercial Centre and the Patch.
The Central Park of Arona, or Parque Central de Arona, is a public park of 42,000 square metres. It has several squares, playgrounds and parking areas and a collection of tropical and Canarian plants. It is located in the centre of Playa de las Americas beside the football stadium. It is bordered by colleges, court, a hospital, and residential buildings.

Staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. Food was outstanding in choice and quality. Our room on the top floor with large terrace and Jacuzzi was lovely with plenty of space and wonderful views.

Breakfast exellent. Nice quiet Hotel.
The hotel is designed as a Mexican style hacienda set in a small village. It is really amazing and one of a kind. It is a quiet oasis in without doubt the best location in Playa de las Americas. There are lots of shady areas with sofas so you can relax when you've had too much sun. The room was very spacious, with a huge double bed which was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever had (I need a firm bed for my bad back!). The free breakfast was excellent. For me, one of the best hotels in Tenerife - if not in Europe!
Minuses:
the early pool towel shift.

The location was excellent. We both enjoyed the Aqua aerobics. The breakfast was ok but not value for money
Food was brill, apartment was great, location excellent and staff wonderful.
The apartment was good a bit small we are in ourlate 60 is with our granddaughter it was good with two bedrooms
Minuses:
The appartment was quite small. We only stayed two nights and my friend was quite ill after the second night. There was also another guest who was sick round the pool.
Walk from Green Gardens Golf Resort Tenerife to Playa De Las Americas
Video was taken in September 2017 to show the walk down to Playa de las Americas from Green Gardens Golf Resort (including some of the resort as we walk through). We carried on walking to Costa Adeje after i stopped recording and then back to Los Cristianos. Going down to Playa de las Americas is easy but coming back you have some hills, so depending how you feel and how far you have walked you could cheat like us and catch a taxi back for about 4 euros from Los Cristianos. :-)
