Golra Sharif Shrine, Pakistan
On 16 December 2014 the world learned that Taliban gunman stormed a military-run school in Peshawar, Pakistan and massacred 141 people, nearly all children. My heart goes out to the vast majority of peace loving Pakistani’s and especially the families of children and staff who lost their lives.
This spring I visited a Sufi Shrine, the Mausoleum of Meher Ali Shah in Golra Sharif, Pakistan with Intersections International. This community opened their doors, welcomed us, fed us lunch and invited us to witness their worship. It is a lovely memory and how I choose to think of Pakistan.

And if these elections are stolen as we expect then we will be all ready and in line to give a call to this nation on January 9. So we want to make the preparations. Either the elections will be fair and the people will get their own parliament and if the elections are not fair then the movement will start.

For polling, a couple of things are quite important. First we have introduced transparent ballot boxes instead of steel boxes, which were used earlier. Secondly, we have arranged voter screens to maintain the secrecy and thirdly the polling staff - we have vigorously trained our staff to ensure neutrality, objectivity and impartiality. The polling staff comprises 500,000 people across the country.

STORYLINE
Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto visited the shrine of a Sufi saint on the edge of the capital Islamabad on Thursday as campaigning ahead of polls planned for 8 January 2008 get underway.
After paying her respects at the tomb of the respected mystic and poet Pir Meher Ali Shah of Golra Sharif (1859-1937), Bhutto, who leads the Pakistan Peoples Party, spoke to reporters.
She said her party would be using benchmarks to test and ensure the polls were fair to everyone taking part.
The votes are to decide Pakistan's national and provincial assemblies.
Bhutto also warned that if the elections were rigged, her party would be ready to mobilise her countrymen.
If these elections are stolen as we expect, then we will be all ready and in line to give a call to this nation on January 9. So we want to make the preparations. Either the elections will be fair and the people will get their own parliament or the elections will not be fair and the movement will start, she said.
Representatives from Bhutto's Pakistan Peoples Party and that of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif were reported to be nearing agreement on Wednesday over a joint set of conditions for their participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Both parties claim the government plans to rig the vote, and have threatened a boycott unless their demands are met.
They're expected to demand restoration of an independent judiciary and the constitution and the creation of a neutral caretaker government and independent election commission, and will most likely set a deadline for government compliance.
In Karachi on Thursday, Pakistani election officials began distributing 430-thousand ballot boxes across the country ahead of the planned polls.
Hundreds of boxes were loaded onto trucks destined for polling stations around the country.
New measures have been drafted in to ensure integrity during the election, according to election commissioner Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad.

Documentary of Hazrat Bari Imam Sarkar Islamabad Pakistan | History in Urdu | Vlogs 2018
HAZRAT IMAM BARI was one of the great and renowned Auliya-e-Kiram of his time and he belonged to Qadri Silsila and absorption were very prominent in his life. His greatness and dignity had gained the fame far and wide. His real name is Shah Abdul Latif and well-known as Bari Badshah, Bari sultan and Bari Imam (Imam of land) but most of them was last one. His respected father’s name was Syed Sakhi Mehmood Shah Kazmi (his Astana is located at the place of Aabpara in Islamabad the capital of Pakistan). His respected father lived at Karsal village, Jhelum district, Tehsil Chakwal at that time. He was born at the same village in 1026 AH/ 1617 AD. It was the reign of Emperor Jahangir. His genealogy connects with Hazrat Imam Syed Musa Kazim (A.S)
Childhood:
His childhood was definitely different from ordinary children. Since childhood, he inclined towards the asceticism, piety, hermit and religion. He did not use to play together with the other children of village, rather he would carry the cattle away from the village and he would busy in the worship by sitting in the isolation. The cattle would graze here and there and then, he would carry back at home at evening by gathering them. He used to study from his respected father and he would neither tell a lie nor swear at others as well as he would not backbite to others and keep away from mischievous activities. The upshot of that inclination and true love with Almighty Allah became the cause of becoming the beloved of Allah at the little age, and his language became effective. That is why, whatever he says, that would be complete.
Acquisition of Knowledge:
He was sent to Ghor ghushti Campbell pur district (Hassan Abdal), that was the Centre of Islam at that time, to get Islamic knowledge. He studied the exegesis of the Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqah, Logic and Mathematics from there. A part from that, he also acquired the medicine knowledge. After getting the current knowledge of that time, he went to the different places such as Kashmir, Badakhshan, Mashhad, Najaf Ashraf, Karbala, Baghdad, Egypt and Damascus, then he went to Makkah-tul-Mukarramah and Madina-tul-Munawwarah to perform Hajj.
Allegiance:
He took an oath of the allegiance on the blessed hand of Hazrat Hayat-ul-Meer whose mystic order belonged to Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani, that way he got the beneficence from the Qadri order.
Islamabad:
Three hundred and twenty years ago, he said that this region of Noorpur Shahan (current Islamabad) will become not only a Centre of the Islam but also the great magnificent and shining city, as well as it will achieve the fame around the world. The prediction of Imam Bari Sarkar proved true. A city inhabited here by the name of Islamabad, that is not only the capital of Pakistan today but also the representative of more than one billion Muslims at the level of United Nations. In the last, we pray to Almighty Allah that May Allah make it such a city where the system of Mustafa can be implemented and make it pure like its name. Ameen!
Demise:
He passed away in 1117 AH and he was buried at Noorpur Shahan, later, his Shrine was strongly rebuilt there. His blessed Shrine is the resort of all at Nurpur Shahan, Islamabad.
