Women in Economics Day, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge
Economics is a male-dominated subject at university, but it needn't be that way. At Gonville & Caius, one of the colleges of Cambridge University, we brought together 100 girls from a wide range of schools to talk about why economics is a great subject to study - with fantastic career opportunities. Our speakers included Dame Kate Barker, who advised the Bank of England as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee, and Vicky Pryce, formerly joint head of the Government Economics Service. Watch our short film to find out what the girls thought and decide whether economics could be for you (and catch a glimpse of our beautiful college in the background!).
