En route to the blue mountains I stopped over in Goulburn for a few hours, on as it turned out to be, a busy Friday afternoon.
8177 fired up on a down garbage train, whilst the up garbage train waited in the distance.
the up Canberra xplorer passed through ahead of 6MW2 empty steel from Mlebourne with NR94, NR8, 9301 & 9316 powering through the station.
*Note: the video incorrectly says that the last unit is 9216, but it is actually 9316*
Once that had passed, the up garbage train was cleared, with 8146 & 8119 leading the service.
another down canberra xplorer passed through just ahead of GL102 with a transfer of two hoppers to the Goulburn workshops.
Follwoing this an empty Qube boxed grain arrived behing QBX004, RL303 & CM3301, which was quickly followed by CSR012 & CSR001 bound for Melbourne on SCT's 5BM9.
last train I recorded was 6NY3 empty steel to Whyalla behind NR21, NR81 & AN5.
I hope you enjoy the video!

Level Crossing, Bombo NSW, Australia.
This is the Panama Street level crossing at Bombo, situated just north of Kiama NSW. The crossing is located on the Bombo Quarry Siding, where it crosses the intersection of Riverside Drive, Panama Street and Hutchinson Street. The quarry is operated by Sydney Trains and provides ballast for use on their tracks. Activity at the quarry has reduced in recent years, and it now sees just a few trains per month.
The crossing was installed on May 25, 2005 following the upgrade of the adjacent Princes Highway and construction of the overpass. The road crossing has five signals which have Western Cullen Hayes bases and Alstom LED lights, with two of the signals also having Western Cullen Hayes electronic bells. The pedestrian crossing has two signals with Aldridge Don't Walk lights and Roshni sounders.
Train information:
Empty ballast trains usually originate from Chullora (in Sydney) and take several hours to reach Bombo. Because the junction for the quarry siding faces in the opposite direction, empty trains are reversed into the siding to load. The trains are currently hauled by Pacific National, with Sydney Trains owning the hoppers.
Empty trains from Sydney are usually numbered 1907, returning loaded as 9108. Three different trains are shown in the video, and were filmed on the following dates:
March 6, 2018, with locomotives 8145 and 8146.
March 7, 2018, with locomotive 8184.
March 28, 2018, with locomotives 8179 and 8161.

Level Crossing, Cootamundra (Yass Rd) NSW, Australia.
The first activation is shown at 4:55
This is the Yass Road level crossing at Cootamundra, New South Wales. It is located on the branch line from Cootamundra to Parkes/Temora, at the western end of the triangular junction with the Sydney - Melbourne Line.
These signals were installed on December 9, 2003, replacing the previous protection which consisted of passive signage and hand operated gates. Both gated signals have unmarked bases, Western Cullen Hayes gate mechanisms and Alstom LED lights. Originally both signals had Western Cullen Hayes mechanical bells, although the northern bell was replaced a few years ago by a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell. The gate-less signal on the northern side of the crossing has a Western Cullen Hayes base and Alstom LED lights.
Previously the mechanical bell on the southern signal would ring until the gates had lowered, although it seems to have recently been modified to ring until the gates rise.
Train information:
On the day of filming there were problems with the signalling here which led to some extra activation of the crossing.
1st train: Light engine 4910 (owned by SSR) is coming from the Temora Line and proceeding to Cootamundra as train number D378. Due to signalling problems, the engine traversed the northern leg of triangle before reversing into Cootamundra Yard.
2nd train: 3PS7 freight from Perth to Sydney, with locomotives NR39, NR69, NR41 and NR106. The crossing activated normally for this train!
3rd train: 3332N empty grain hoppers from Temora Sub-Terminal to Cootamundra, with locomotive 8169. Once again, signalling problems caused an extra activation of the crossing.
Filmed on December 14, 2018.
