Charles S. Grob, MD, Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the UCLA School of Medicine and Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center; Matthew W. Johnson, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; and Stephen Ross, MD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at New York University School of Medicine, Director of the Division of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, the Dual Diagnosis Training Unit and the Opioid Overdose Prevention Program at Bellevue Hospital Center, and Director of the NYU Psychedelic Research Group
Introduction by Mark J. Plotkin, PhD, ethnobotanist; Founder and President of The Amazon Conservation Team; and author of Tales of a Shaman's Apprentice and Medicine Quest
For over forty years, drugs like LSD and psilocybin (the active ingredient in “magic” mushrooms) were classified as the most dangerous, Schedule I substances, with no accepted medical use. They were impossible to secure for research, but recently, that began to change. These and other psychedelic compounds are capturing attention again —not as part of a trippy counter-culture, but as an exciting new frontier in medicine. Can we unlock their powerful potential to help patients gripped by depression, struggling with terminal cancer, or craving another cigarette? Venture on a trip with the researchers exploring groundbreaking treatments for addiction, PTSD, and end-of-life anxiety.

For a more detailed and documented account of this history please see our 'Warfare Study' -
This interview is being published so that all may know the true history of the Branch Davidians and that David Koresh was not at any time the leader of the true/original Branch Davidians. The true Branch movement still exists today and is actively receiving and publishing 'new light' on the scriptures, via the living Spirit of prophecy.
HRH Princess Alice Attends the Ideal Home Exhibition 1967
Paupers love the Ideal Home Exhibition and so does the Royal Family! Here we see dear Alice Duchess of Gloucester bestowing her kindest disdain upon the Bedford's dinner table (0:16), the Bath's coach (0:46) and old Salisbury's valuable picture of Good Queen Bess (01:12). My well - used state-of-the-art bedroom from Harcourt House was transported to the venue panel by panel (01:27). At 01:35 we even witness a crime when naughty Conception, my Portuguese maid, is caught on camera using my rise and fall mirror. Because of her flagrant use of my comb I had to replace the entire toilette set - as well as Concepcion - at vast expense. Fortunately her sister, Contracepcion, was on hand to take her place even as she was carried off, shrieking, to prison. At 01:50 we see the mink covered sofa Mummy popped into my glory box in 1966. Many celebrated visitors have appreciated the adjustable rear, including the darling Duke and Duchess of Bedford (01:57) who were enjoying the preview all right . They often made up one of Margot's threesomes (bridge). That's not me lolling on it by the way (02.01); that's some silly female who refuses to remove her oversized heels. Some people just don't appreciate fur. From 02:11 onwards we see the paupers' interiors as well as the unutterable Contracepcion (02:20) who begins to rifle the cupboards as soon as her incriminated sister has been incarcerated. That's Little Me at 02:45 trying to work out what was missing after the maids' raid!. I'd had a 'tease and blow' with Alberto beforehand but as you can see all that action in the closets is beginning to shake my do! At 03:03 the dear Duchess of Gloucester reappears in her Humming Bird Hat and Chinchilla Matinee Jacket with three quarter sleeves. What's that weird machine? she asks, pointing at a stove (03:05). Note the charming Shu Make Up at the end (03:12). Mummy invented this after she stepped in some corgi mess at a Garden Party. She's too clever but not as clever as Molly Wiley (03:38) whose rug rider saved the paupers millions in heating bills. Naugty Mummy says that Molly looks like a bit of a rug rider herself. There's a hint of jealousy there.
Next of Kin: Seeing Extinction through the Artist’s Lens
Panel Discussion
Carrie Lambert-Beatty, Professor of Visual and Environmental Studies and History of Art and Architecture; Director of Graduate Studies, Film and Visual Studies, Harvard University
Christina Seely, Artist and Assistant Professor of Studio Art, Dartmouth College
Ross Virginia, Myers Family Professor of Environmental Science; Director, Institute of Arctic Studies, The John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding, Dartmouth College
Moderated by Edward Morris, Artist; Professor of Practice, Department of Transmedia; Co-Director of The Canary Lab, Syracuse University; Co-Director of The Canary Project
How do we understand complex ecological issues such as climate change and species extinction? What role do the arts play in this understanding, compared to—or in collaboration with—the sciences? What is the role of empathy or belief, as opposed to knowledge? This interdisciplinary panel discussion will explore these important questions within the context of the new HMNH exhibition Next of Kin: Seeing Extinction through the Artist’s Lens, which uses special photography techniques, lighting and sound design, and specimens of extinct or endangered animals from Harvard collections to evoke empathy with our “next of kin.”
Presented in collaboration with the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies, Harvard University

Here at DutchCrafters, we work with Amish woodworkers every day, but we don't all know everything we could regarding Amish faith and beliefs. So we brought in JB Miller, a Mennonite man with Amish family and a teacher of classes on the Amish and Mennonites. JB gave us insights on topics from the history of the Amish church to their life and culture to the Sarasota, Florida community of Pinecraft! Read more about the Amish in our Learning Center.
Our Presenter for this Video About the Amish
About JB Miller
JB moved to Pinecraft at 9 years old, and his parents were born Mennonite. He attends Covenant Mennonite Church in Sarasota, FL, along with several other staff at DutchCrafters. JB is an instructor with Adult and Community Enrichment in Sarasota, and teaches two courses: Mennonites, Amish, and the Pinecraft Community and Amish Customs and Practices.
History of the Amish
The Amish church was founded in 1693 after a group led by Jacob Amman split from the Mennonite church in Europe. Mennonites came to the United States in the 1600s and the Amish moved over in the early 1700s, where they initially settled near Philadelphia.
Rumspringa
Rumspringa, also known as running around, is a well-known part of Amish life. In Rumspringa, Amish youth are given freedom from the strict rules and expectations of the church. In popular culture Rumspringa is portrayed as wild, partying teenagers who leave their communities to go to the big city during their late teenage years. But after all this, 80 to 85 percent of Amish youth end up joining the church!
Pinecraft, Florida: An Amish Community
In the 1920s, Mennonites and Amish settlers first moved down to Florida to the Sarasota area along the gulf coast. Here, the Amish established a settlement called Pinecraft. This is the reason Amish are in Sarasota and the reason DutchCrafters is headquartered in Sarasota today! As the city of Sarasota grew around Pinecraft, it became a unique little Amish settlement in the middle of a city, where people in hats and coverings can be scene riding tricycles around town and boarding the bus to the beach during winter months.
Drugs and Alcohol in Amish Communities
JB shared that drugs and alcohol have impacted the Amish in many communities. In fact, many Amish people smoke and even grow tobacco! Much like seeing an Amish man talking on a cell phone, it will make you do a double-take. But we've always found that to be true with the Amish. They're never quite what you expect. But always kind, gracious, and good to work with.

John Marshall: The Man Who Made the Supreme Court
Award-winning biographer Richard Brookhiser vividly chronicles America's greatest judge, John Marshall, and the world he made when he became the fourth Chief Justice of the United States in 1801. At the time, the Supreme Court was the weakest branch of the federal government, but in 34 years expounding the Constitution he loved, Marshall established the high court as a pillar of American life. A book signing will follow the program.

Originally created for the 168 Film Festival, ReMoved follows the emotional story through the eyes of a young girl taken from her home and placed into foster care.
After winning Best Film and Audience Choice at the 168 Film Festival, as well as winning Best Film at the Enfoque Film Festival and being an official selection at the Santa Barbara Independent Film Festival, we're extremely excited to share ReMoved online.
It would be impossible to fully understand the life and emotions of a child going through the foster care system, but this short narrative film portrays that saga in a poetic light, with brushes of fear, anger, sadness, and a tiny bit of hope. -Santa Barbara Independent
This short film wouldn't be possible without the help of some of my incredible friends.
First, my wife, who schemed this project up with me, and was willing to do me the huge favor of writing and producing it. Without her partnership, this would not have happened, and definitely would not have been such a fun process. We were inspired to create this film while in foster parent training.
And then of course Tony Cruz. I asked him early on if he'd be willing to tackle this with me. I wasn't sure if I was really going to pursue it unless he said yes. He graciously agreed and was, to me, a huge source of confidence in knowing this project would turn out well. He and i discussed everything during the pre-production, and i counted on his creative mind to keep me on the right path. He even persuaded another key creative on the project, Greg Pickard, to join us. On Set Tony was my right hand man. On set, if I just wasn't feeling it, I had the trust in him to be able to just hand the scene off to him and know he would make it work. And he stepped in plenty of times when i just needed a break, or a separate perspective. Some of the best moments in the film are of his doing. Go check him out at tonycruz.co
We were very fortunate with Abby White, the young actress. Without her we wouldn't have a film.
Her parents were so amazing as well. I don't think they anticipated how much involvement it would take on their end, but they stuck with it the whole way. Abby's dad, Andy White from Good Times Guitar, even recorded Abby's Voice Over for us in his studio.
We also owe a huge thanks to our cast: Sabrina Culver, the birth mom, who brought so much to her role and also Jordan Nice, who gave a phenomenal performance as the abusive boyfriend: . Last but certainly not least, Kyra Locke, who played the committed caring foster mom, who truly brought such an amazing contribution to the story:
We can vouch for each of them. They are worth working with!
