Tasmania - Cradle Mountain - Strahan - Canyoning - Gordon River - part 1

Driving the state again and this time an overnight stay at Strahan Tasmania. Strahan is the gateway to the World Heritage Listed Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, A site of convict history, and nestle in Macquaire Harbour which is 6 times the volume of Sydney Harbour. This is a real gem.
Last time we were here was an estimated 8 years ago and while we didnt do the Gordon River Cruise or Wilderness Railway we will make sure it isn't another 8 years before the next visit.
Thanks to our good mate Matt for the drone footage!
Explore Tasmania Episode 5 - Heading Off To The Gordon River via Old Kempton and NANT Distillery
Thanks to our friends at Gordon River Cruises we’ll be heading up to the West Coast of Tasmania to check out their newly launched Spirit Of The Wild.
Drone footage of the cruise was supplied by Gordon River Cruise as using a drone in a national park or world heritage area in Tasmania is strictly not allowed.
A lot of thought has gone into the design of the boat as well as the sound which is what makes it so unique. As you head down the Gordon River it changes over to electric motors so not only will you enjoy uninterrupted views of the Gordon River but also be able to hear the natural sounds of this World Heritage area.
