This place is situated about 10 km away from Nagpur.It is perfect for a picnic spot.The lake is surrounded by greenery which looks just awesome.You can see many fishes and snakes here if you are lucky at morning i spoted one wood picker(Bird)

In 1912, Gorewada lake was developed by the water works department as the primary drinking water source for Nagpur's 1.01 lakh population.[2]Bordered by thick forest, Gorewada lake and its surrounding is the habitat for avian species and some wild life. The government of Maharashtra has started to develop a 1914 hectare safari in the forest regions surrounding the lake. Information by many newspapers claimed that it would also roll out he first night-safari in the country. The proposal was a long-drawn one, first proposed in 2005 and the safari started only in 2016. Leopards, Indian deer, Indian Peacock and some more species can be occasionally spotted.

Gorewada lake is a beautiful and picturesque birding destination near the city of Nagpur in central India. It is favorite spot for local birders. This place is also visited by people who go there for Morning walk or evening walk. It is home to several species of resident and migratory birds.

Gorewada Lake Nagpur is now recovering slightly
This is gorewada this summer it went all dry and not in Nagpur it seems like a draught like situation and all are panicking over the low rainfall this season. Otherwise gorewada lake is such a lake that has never gone so low into the water reserves. There was a time its was all dry this season. Since the rain has begun in these two-three days so it looks like we are falling again. Govewada is one of the very major water reserves of Nagpur. And any which ways water is one of the major factors of human existence in this world.
