What to see in Armenia ? Armenia Travel Story (2019)
Hi Tripofans!
This video will help you to get the inside tips of what to see in Armenia when you plan to visit this beautiful historical country. Armenia is a country landlocked with several nations all around including Iran, Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Armenia has a large diaspora, with about 8 million Armenians living throughout the world. This is much larger than the current 3 million population of Armenia itself.
I visited Armenia for a month and got the chance to stay and live with an Armenian family in the beautiful city of Vanadzor. I tasted Armenian food dishes including the famous Lavash while understanding their traditions and culture. I visited both parts of Armenia including North and South.
Starting with North Armenia I stayed and lived in the city of Vanadzor and visited Yerevan, Lastiver, Ejevan and Lake Sevan. In the beginning of the video, one of my friends who is Armenian gives a surprise to her family after a year staying in India. During the surprise period emotions, love, feelings and connection of Armenian family can be seen towards her daughter returning after a long time. We then travel with the family to a famous Armenian picnic spot and a village about 50-60 Kilometres from Yerevan, the capital. During the drive we also see a famous old factory ruins during the Soviet Union period. Most of the Armenians lost their jobs after the factory was closed during the separation between Armenia and Russia after the Soviet Union breakup.
We then do a trek at Lastiver next to the city Ejevan. Lastiver is an Armenian forest where we stayed in a Tree house hotel surrounded by waterfalls, trees and nature all around. Basic necessities such as washroom, food and electricity are not available here and we had to carry all necessary items for 1-2 nights stay. Then you will see my friend experiencing the first longest zipline started in Ejevan. It is longest because it connects mountains in minutes, and a zipliner experiences the joy of speed in the high mountain peaks. It is definitely thrilling and heart beating experience to enjoy while you visit Ejevan.
We then visit Lake Sevan which is one of the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region. It is one of the largest freshwater high-altitude (alpine) lakes in Eurasia. We tried out some fresh water fish from lake Sevan with a village family on the way. We also found an old historical HIDDEN Armenian Monastery landlocked between mountains and a lake. I had a walk around the area. There aren’t people out there and one feels surrounded with fresh nature all around.
Me and my friend then visited South Armenia starting with Norovank Monastery on the way to the famous TATEV MONASTERY which is one of the highlights of this beautiful country We took a one day taxi tour to South Armenia from Yerevan and we found it quiet worthwhile if a traveller has less time and intends to see everything.
Armenia has the world’s longest Cable Car known as WINGS OF TATEV. To reach the Tatev Monastery it is the easiest, fastest and the best form of transportation after reaching the final taxi parking area in the mountains where the roads end. Tatev Monastery is a 9th-century Armenian Apostolic monastery located on a large basalt plateau near the Tatev village in Syunik Province in south-eastern Armenia. The term “Tatev” usually refers to the monastery.
On the way we also visit Armenian Rocks Village and famous waterfalls called Jermuk. We finally ended our trip in Yerevan..
Armenia also has lots of Indians and this trip made me realize how deeper is a connection between Armenian and Indian cultures, people and traditions since both the countries are influenced with religion, family, emotions and most of all togetherness amongst the local people.
This video will explain and show you things to do and what to see in Armenia. If you enjoy it, like and share the video and subscribe to our channel for more videos on travelling.

School Forestry in Syunik Region of RA

Forest reserve's financial problems
17 centuries ago, by the order of King Khosrov Kotak forest-planting works have started in this territory, which later became a place, where the representatives of royal families hunted, had fun and received military education.
Many centuries later, in 1958, upon the decision of the Ministers' Council of Soviet Armenia, in the territory of Khosrov forest a first state forest-reserve has been established.
Khosrov forest-reserve now has a 24 thousand hectare territory and has four plots -- Khosrov, Garni, Kaqavaberd and Khachazor. Each plot has unique plants and animals, historical and cultural monuments.
