HMS Alliance Walk Through Tour 2019 | 4K
Full walk through tour of HMS Alliance – which is included in the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard ‘Full Navy Ticket’.
HMS Alliance was one of sixteen ‘A’ Class Royal Navy submarines and was commissioned into service in 1947. In 1958 she was refitted and went on to fulfil a ‘hunter-killer’ role during the Cold War.
There is a water bus (included in the Full Navy Ticket) that drops you off right next to the Alliance. Alternatively, the museum is a short walk from the Gosport ferry terminal.
The Royal Navy Submarine Museum is certainly well worth a visit if you are visiting the Portsmouth/Gosport area.
Thanks for watching :)

Air raid on Priddy's Hard (w siren) Explosion! museum, Gosport
Re-enactors simulate an air raid during the Battle of Britain on Priddy's Hard using sound effects, pyrotechnics and a hand operated Secomak siren as part of the Spirit of the 40s event being held by the Explosion! museum (not sure what those darned Ruskies were doing in this re-enactment). Another video from this event can be found at
Priddy's Hard is a former Royal Naval Ordnance Depot in Gosport, UK, supplying the navy with guns and armaments from 1771 when the original powder magazine was built until its closure in 1988. Its proximity to Portsmouth and other military sites in the area might have been a plus point in supplying the Navy, but inevitably meant visits from the Luftwaffe for the 2,500 women who worked on the site during its peak in the Second World War. The Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower, which held this Spirit of the 40s event, opened on part of the former site in 2001.
I arrived just as this re-enactment was starting, wasn't in the best position, and in my rush made the classic mistake of videoing on my phone in portrait rather than landscape -- my apologies! (I'm full of excuses - will buy better equipment soon)
