Priyesh Gothwal: A Preview
Priyesh Gothwal born in Udaipur, Rajasthan (b. 1993) in the family practicing miniature art, Priyesh holds a Bachelor
degree in Fine arts from Rajasthan school of arts, Jaipur, Rajasthan (2011-15) and a Master degree in
Fine arts from Shiv Nadar University, Delhi (2015-17).In his work, architectural-plans, images, maps and other such documents and blue-prints provide a field,
a site of inspection to locate and draw his inquiries towards the idea of accommodation, bringing in
personal and social constructs. Often working with sound, visual and textual material (texts/symbols),
his inquiries further a detail view at methods or formats of inspection prior to the medium.
Priyesh has exhibited his work in Student Biennale, Kochi, india (2014 and 2016) and has been a part of
few group exhibitions including ‘8x4-Flowers will start flowering’, a travelling group exhibition curated
by Jasone Miranda-Bilbao in collaboration with Akansha Rastogi and Paribartan Mohanty at Gallery OED,
Kochi, 2018 and in Sala Rekalde, Spain, 2019; ‘Listening Post’, curated by Vasudha Thozhur as part of
‘Critical Constellation’ by FICA at IGNCA, New Delhi, 2019.
