Sydney Guided Tours - Matt Urmenyhazi, Founder
Sydney Guided Tours gets away from the typical tourist attractions of Sydney and shows you the other side - beaches, gourmet local produce, Aboriginal carvings and cute Aussie animals!
KANGAROOS, COASTLINES AND CARVINGS Sydney Getaway Day Trip
Experience another side of Sydney - beaches, gourmet local produce, Aboriginal carvings and cute Aussie animals! Say Hi to kangaroos and koalas, stroll along the coast, picturesque bush walks... there is something for everyone on this customisable tour!
- Discover ancient Aboriginal carvings in a short hike through beautiful bushland
- Walk with iconic Aussie animals in their natural habitat
- Visit the only pearl farm in NSW - producing pearls of exceptionally high quality
- Dine on gourmet local produce; fresh oysters, local gin and seafood
- Enjoy the serenity of pristine, uncrowded beaches and coastlines
- Explore natural rock pools brimming with sea life
- Get your best photos of the iconic Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge from Lady Macquarie's Chair
- Experience Australia's most famous pie!
Get your cameras ready!! Just before we leave Sydney, we'll stop at the iconic Mrs Macquarie's Chair. The best vantage point to view the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. The chair was carved out of rock by convicts in 1810. In the distance is the bridge we cross on our journey to the edge of Sydney.
Sydney’s best pie (optional bonus stop). The internationally acclaimed Harry's Cafe De Wheels is an iconic pie cart situated near Woolloomooloo naval dockyard. Countless celebrities have eaten here during its 75 years in business. Mondays to Fridays only.
A short 45-minute drive and you’re already in the surprisingly wild countryside on the edge of Sydney, driving through scenic valleys and national parks.
This is an immersive experience tour. An easy 30-minute bush walk, overlooking picturesque valleys where we discover ancient Aboriginal engravings and a mysterious Sumerian engraving. Many Sydney locals don't know about these!
Get up close and personal with koalas, kangaroos and emus in their natural settings! The wildlife park we visit successfully mimics the natural environment of these fascinating creatures, making this experience feel far less like a zoo and more like ‘a walk on the wild side’.
Our first beach of the day! Lifeguards patrol Umina Beach and young Nippers (life saving cadets) train here, right in front of the clubhouse. Then a quick stroll through the beautiful beach-side village of Pearl Beach. The appearance to most visitors of this village is one of bushland with houses rather than the expected opposite.
Feeling thirsty? We drop in for a refresher at the Mediterranean-styled Boathouse Hotel. Located in the idyllic coastal town of Patonga, surrounded by the Hawkesbury and Brisbane Waters National Park.
Lunch is at a stunning waterfront restaurant overlooking the beautiful mangroves at Woy Woy, a little fishing village. It’s at this iconic landmark where we dine on award-winning local seafood. The Central Coast's premier seafood market is right next to the fancy restaurant we’ve eaten in. Here’s where you can browse the local sustainably-sourced, catches-of-the-day…
Beautiful Avoca Headland - the real surfers paradise! Walk along the pristine beaches and headlands. Chat with local surfers and fishermen, or have a look for fish in crystal clear sea pools. Don't forget to bring your swimming costume if it's a warm day!
A quick stop at a boutique distillery where an array of award-winning spirits and liqueurs are produced. Many of the ingredients are sourced from the flowers, fruits and herbs plucked straight from the distillery's amazing fragrant garden. Wednesdays - Sundays only.
The majestic Hawkesbury River is our last detour for the day. Visit a local oyster farm supplying produce straight from the source (Wednesdays - Sundays). Sit back and watch the sun setting over the waterways, sampling oysters and prawns. Right next door is the only pearl producer in New South Wales. These Akoya pearls are of exceptionally high quality, are rare, and are believed to be premium on the global market today.

There's so much to do in Sydney, and if you ever run out of things to do (though highly unlikely), there is still a plethora of things to do. A couple hours drive from Sydney CBD is Hunter Valley, Australia's oldest and arguably most famous wine region. There is so much to do in the Hunter Valley, and whether you are looking to indulge, escape, or invigorate your senses, there is something for you.
Not too long ago, i spent a weekend in the Hunter Valley with a few of my friends, tasting a bunch of wine, eating a moderate amount of cheese and soaked in those beautiful vineyard views.
