Rayappa Kasi Madikeri, India, June 15 16, 2011
Gaddige also known as Raja’s tomb is located in one of the beautiful hill station of Karnataka, Madikeri,The monument depicts the pervading building style of those days which was Indo- Sarcenic. The monument contains the mortal remains of the royal Kodavas.
Not sure where this place is exactly located but our auto drivers bring us here after visiting Abbey falls so I consider it is very close or maybe En Route to that.
Gaddige or the tombs are built in Muhammadan style with tombs at the center and turrets at the corners. Nandi figures are carved on top of the corners. The entrance of the tombs has carvings too.
I would say it should not be missed even there is nothing much to do so..

Madikeri Fort Coorg - Detailed
The Madikeri Fort in Coorg has a fascinating history. However, for a tourist, it's like a cherry on the top, yet hidden. A short walk from the center of the town will lead you to the fort. It currently houses the district commissioner office. The church building at the entrance of the fort houses a museum. There is also an old temple within the fort premises as well a number of houses where people actually live.
However, the sad part is that the apart from the two main buildings, rest of the buildings are absolutely in shambles. Sadly, they will ultimately be lost. So, make it point if you happen to visit Coorg, do make time for the MAdikeri Fort. If not the masonry elephants or the 300 year old structure, you will definitely enjoy the panoramic views of Coorg that the Madikeri fort offers!
Coorg Trip | Part 4 | RAJA'S SEAT | Madikeri | Karnataka | Malayalam Travel Vlog #22
Raja's Seat
Raja's Seat (Seat of the King) is a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains. It is one of the most important tourist spots in Madikeri of Coorg District. It is 270 km away from Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka.
A pleasant spectacle of refreshing layers of greenery, chain of high and low-rise-mountains attired with mist, the Raja Garden was a one-time-favorite of the kings of Kodagu who used to watch the setting sun, and spend time with their queens here. It is shaped like a small square in brick and mortar, with four pillars bridged by arches, enhanced by beautiful surroundings. This lovely spot was a favorite place of recreation for the Rajas and hence was permanently associated with them. It is built on a high level ground with a commanding view of the cliffs and valleys to the west. Early in the morning as the sun is just rising in the east, the mist shrouded valley below offers a rare sight. The golden light of the setting sun is a splendor to watch. There is also a Toy Train for children.

The colonial-era District Central Jail in Sangareddy, in the Indian state of Telangana, opened its doors to tourists, who can now gain a first-hand experience of prison life by paying a fee of 500 rupees ($7.50 / €6,70) for a day's stay.
Footage from the jail in Sangareddy on Wednesday, shows paying visitors languish their 24-hour sentence away in the guest prison. A 24-hour confinement is offered to visiting 'prisoners' under the initiative dubbed 'Feel the Jail' at the 220-year-old jail, which has been converted into a museum.
Upon entering the prison compound, the inmates are provided with a prison uniform, a steel meal plate, a mug, bedding and other basic necessities. During their 24-hour confinement, the guest 'prisoners' are allowed to plant saplings and clean their barracks.
SOT, Santosh Kumar Roy, Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (English): In this villager concept, an individual has been allowed to stay in the jail for a 24-hour time. He has to pay five hundred rupees Again, he will be staying like a jail inmate. He has to wear the jail inmate dress, he has to follow the routines, day-to-day routines, their lock-up time, unlock-up time. Again, you'll be cut from your Facebook and WhatsApp, so you are entirely cut from the society and world.
