Albert Hall Museum || अल्बर्ट हॉल संग्रहालय हिस्ट्री जयपुर राजस्थान || vlogging india
Albert Hall Museum Jaipur History in हिंदी-अल्बर्ट हॉल संग्रहालय हिस्ट्री जयपुर राजस्थान-The main attraction of the Albert Hall Jaipur is the building itself, with its beautifully elaborate Indo - Saracenic inspired domes and carved arches constructed from inlaid sand stone. The museum does have an extensive collection, the largest in Rajasthan.
History – In the honor of Prince Albert of Britain who was the husband of Queen Victoria, this beautiful place was named as the ‘Albert Hall Museum’. In 1876, during his tour of the Indian Subcontinent, this museum was built to tempt him to visit the Pink City. Maharaja Ram Singh really wanted the prince to visit the Pink City because due to this visit, their ties to the British Royal Court will be improved and strengthened. He also performed other extravagance like the whole Jaipur city was painted in pink color which was the symbol of welcoming. This tradition continues to be followed through to today.
The famous British Architect, Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, designed this beautiful Albert Hall very gracefully. While designing this place, he used the combination of India Islamic Architecture along with the Neo-gothic. This Neo-gothic pattern was very trendy and popular in the Victorian era. This combination and pattern of design was further referred to as Indo-Saracenic. Albert Hall Museum is one of the best example of such kind of style.
On the 6th of February 1876, the first stone of foundation ceremony was performed. The first stone of the place was laid by the Prince Albert and the place was also named after him. It took ten years to complete the construction of this beautiful building. By the reign of Madho Singh II, the construction of this building was over. As per the desire of Madho Singh I, Madho Singh II declared that this beautiful Albert Hall will be used as the museum instead of a government building. This beautiful museum is about 131 Years Old and houses the Excellent Collection Of Rajasthan royal Paintings, Traditional Royal outfits, crafts And Sculptures.
Building Design – A royal building, which shows Indo-Saracen style of structural engineering, Albert Hall is a model of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The museum houses the unique collection of ancient stuffs like beautiful crafts work, ceramics objects, sketches, models, woodwork, toys, dolls, common history examples, such as Egyptian Mummy and the well known Persian Golden Carpet.
The ground floor galleries of the museum gives the guests a brief idea about the culture, way of living and shades of Real Rajasthan. Various types of jewelries and outfits of the people of all types of society of Rajasthan are displayed here. In this way, One section consists the outfits of the privileged classes including Rajputs and rich merchants. The another section houses the outfits of the several villages of Rajasthan that includes, Meenas, Bhils, Gadoliya, Lohars, etc. Thus one can find here the fusion of several shades of Rajasthan.
There is a popular gallery in museum, named as ‘Mehndi Mandana’. This beautiful gallery is completely dedicated to the well known henna body art of Rajasthan. The unique and classy Rajasthani designs and motifs, which are uniquely considered as traditional throughout the world, are beautifully displayed in this Mehndi Mandana gallery.
In another famous gallery of Albert Hall Museum, one can see the unique puppets and the Phad paintings. Phad paintings are basically the sketches of the life of Pabuji Rathore in painted Scrolls. Pabuji Rathore was the very well known folk hero of Marwar.
Apart from all these galleries, visitors can witness the several forms of Rajasthani Music and Dance in the central gallery. This gallery is a must visit place in the whole museum.
So friends, if you are a culture lover and want to feel the true essence of Rajasthan, visit to this beautiful place is a must.
The Albert Hall Museum is open every day from 9:00 to 17:00
