Free Graffiti Tour Bogotá | Gran Colombia Tours
Want to learn how graffiti fits into Bogotá’s history and allure?
Bogotá has become a world reference in graffiti. It boasts impressive murals and street art that place it above cities like Miami, Amsterdam, Río, and Ciudad de México. Its rise as one of the key city-canvases in Latin America has made it an attractive destination for the curious tourist and the bold artist. Would you have guessed?
As with graffiti everywhere else, Bogotá’s history with the art has often been tense. But great art can overcome negative labels. Right now, no one would call it vandalism. It has struggled but has earned its place and the city is better for it. The mixture of social and political commentary with a twist of local and foreign styles make Bogotá’s graffiti truly a sight to behold.
Join us in this tour not only of Colombia’s history as told by art but a tour of Bogotá’s streets as a curated museum of amazing artists!

Medellin vs. Bogota | Which Is The Better Expat Destination in Colombia?
Which is the best country for you?
???? Free Country Test ????
Medellin vs. Bogota
Another day another city comparison, today we will compare living in Medellin vs. living in Bogota.
Both cities have their own benefits when living there, but what are the biggest differences between Medellin and Bogota?
As always Sam shares his own opinion, the things that he claims to be a pro or a con for a city might be different for you. But since he can not talk for everyone, he sticks to his own opinion.
Medellin and Bogota are both great cities to live in as an Expat. The city comparison should help to make your decision easier, in case you're thinking of relocating to one of those cities.
Bogota is the capital city of Colombia and ha around double of the population Medellin has.
It is a pretty international city and has a lot of corporate companies located there. Due to that you see more foreigners and here more different languages from all over the world. But is such a huge city for you?
Medellin is famous for its eternal spring weather (for us even eternal summer)
Medellin is a really developed city and has a lot of entrepreneurship in its air. It's a fast-growing city and has a lot of great spots to live in. But because the city isn't as big as Bogota there are not so many options to live in compared to Bogota. And a lot of great activities are further away. Is the city of Medellin right for you?
Watch the video and find out if one of those cities fit you better.
Don't hesitate to contact us with any Expat questions you might have. No matter if you've got questions about Medellin, Bogota, Santa Marta or Colombia in general. We would love to support you on your journey.

Welcome to Colombia
Bogotá is the capital city of Colombia, and there are a lot of fun plans for Sunday in Bogota, one of them is visiting flea markets, the Bogota Sunday Market. In public parking areas you will find several spots in the city where people sell recycled goods, used and cheap things. There’re four principal flea markets in Bogota; three of them are located in Bogota’s Downtown, and the fourth is situated in the neighborhood Usaquen. Flea Markets are the perfect place to enjoy music, remember childhood memories and eat food only in Colombia offered, such as Lechona and Salpicón. It is also the perfect place to get in touch with locals and learn about their live and thoughts. Colombians love to communicate and on Sunday’s everybody is very relaxed. Specifically, in Usaquen you can find a broad variety of restaurants of high quality. Restaurants as Chevichería La Mar to get some Peruvian food in Bogota, Julia to get one of Bogotas best pizza and San Alberto’s Coffee Temple, a nice place to get a cup of Colombian coffee (Watch full video about San Alberto’s Farm: Besides the flee market you can also stroll down Carrera 7 (carrera septima Bogota), which on Sunday’s is full of street artists, sellers, bikers, tourist, locals and you can be sure that you will see some cool but also some very weird stuff. Make sure you have some coins in your pocket and make those Bogota Street Artists move and show their stuff. Best place to start for the walk down the Carrera 7 is Plaza Bolivar right in the middle of La Candelaria, the historic part of Bogota. If you travel to Colombia you will have the chance to see all this and enjoy the things to do in Colombia.

One of the main neighborhoods of Bogotá is La Candelaria ( the city center. Here you find most of the museums in Bogotá and a large number of historical and cultural events and sites. Welcome to Colombia
La Candelaria is the neighborhood located at Bogota’s Downtown and it is a small reminder of how Bogotá in the past was, thanks to its colonial architecture. Here is where the city was founded on August 6, 1538 and there’s so many places you can visit. There’s a great offer of restaurants, museums, cultural centers, colonial churches and universities.
The main sites of interest are the Marketplace “La Concordia” where you can find a great variety of Colombian fruits and vegetables, the Chorro de Quevedo, a spot for cultural activities and have fun with friends. Then, there’s the Church “Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria”, the one that gives the name to all the neighborhood. Other place is the Plaza de Bolivar, it is the main square where you can find the City Hall, the Congress, the Palace of Justice, and the Cathedral of Bogotá. Other places are the Plaza Santander, Iglesia de San Francisco, the Restaurant “La Puerta Falsa” and the Coffee House “Café Pasaje”.

walking in Bogota ( Colombia )
Bogotá is the capital and largest city of Colombia administered as the Capital District, although often thought of as part of Cundinamarca. Bogotá is a territorial entity of the first order, with the same administrative status as the departments of Colombia. It is the political, economic, administrative, industrial, artistic, cultural, and sports center of the country.
Bogotá was founded as the capital of the New Kingdom of Granada on August 6, 1538, by Spanish conquistador Gonzalo Jiménez de Quesada after a harsh expedition into the Andes conquering the Muisca. The Muisca were the indigenous inhabitants of the region and called the settlement where Bogotá was founded Bacatá. After the Battle of Boyacá on August 7, 1819, Bogotá became the capital of the independent nation of Gran Colombia. Since the Viceroyalty of New Granada's independence from the Spanish Empire and during the formation of present-day Colombia, Bogotá remained the capital of this territory.
